Brock can wrestle so he actually brings something to MMA. The only thing Kimbo has shown me is that he has average power for the first couple minutes of a fight.

I wouldn't quite say average power..He has some serious power. It doesn't make him better then brock by any means, but I do give credit where it's due in that sense..

Perfect example is your gif. Everythimg James Thompson walks into the ring I'm afraid he might knock himself out on the ropes. He has a glass jaw and Kimbo still couldn't knock him out.

Dude his head snapped backwards like it was going to fall off...Just because you don't like that guy doesn't mean everything about him is [censored].I'm not a fan of Kimbo but those are some pretty nasty shots..There is a reason people watch him,and it's not because he's a weakling. Sure there are other reasons as well(all marketing),and unlike a lot of people i'm not making him out to be the [censored],but damn..

He always has the opportunity to knock someone out, but just as much as anyone his size.

I agree. There just aren't a lot of people his size(especially in elitexc considering most of them look like twigs or balls of flab). There is a big difference in a guy being 250lbs and a guy being 250lbs jacked.

Agreed, from what I have seen from Kimbo, it's not the power that's the issue, it's stamina, good for the first few minutes, then the gas just runs out.

One trick pony, James Thompson probably should have won that match had it not been for the exploding ear. I will say, much like many others, that I am interested to see if he can get some training and actually become an MMA fighter, but I don't see it happening.

Ortiz: Affliction, EliteXC, UFC In Mix

A chipper Tito Ortiz (Pictures) said he?s still very much a free agent on Friday?s episode of ?Inside MMA? on HDNet.

Ortiz -- who also announced that he and longtime girlfriend Jenna Jameson are expecting their first child together ?- recently satisfied a multi-fight contract with the UFC, where he has been one of the promotion?s top-three draws for the last 11 years.

The popular former UFC light heavyweight champion ran down a list of promotional candidates who could snag his services in the coming months.

Contd....

UFC will make Couture's return official at Noon PT

By Steve Cofield

After 11 months of fighting in the courts it looks like the UFC and Randy Couture have buried the hatchet. The promotion is holding a press conference on Tuesday at Noon PT to announce a new deal with the heavyweight champion.
Couture is expected to face Brock Lesnar at UFC 91 in Portland in what could be the biggest pay-per-view show in the UFC's history. There is also talk now that with a win over Lesnar, Couture could face Fedor Emelianenko in 2009, under the UFC banner.

Article link from the previous post..

Things are moving quite fast with the Randy Couture situation these days. MMA Junkie has a scoop on possible negotiations for Couture to face Fedor Emelianenko in early 2009 contingent upon a victory over Brock Lesnar at UFC 91:
The long-rumored heavyweight superfight between UFC champion Randy Couture (16-8 MMA, 8-5 UFC) and WAMMA champion Fedor Emelianenko (28-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) is currently being discussed for an as-yet-unspecified date in January or February of 2009.
Sources inside Couture?s Xtreme Couture camp today informed MMAjunkie.com (UFC blog for UFC news, UFC rumors, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps | MMAjunkie.com) of the ongoing negotiations between the UFC and both fighters.
Adding to previous speculation that Couture?s return may be on Nov. 15 at UFC 91 against Brock Lesnar, Xtreme Couture is also reportedly making travel arrangements to bring in several ?larger heavyweights? as sparring partners for Couture.
Sources indicate the Emelianenko bout is contingent upon Couture defeating Lesnar in November.
Things are certainly heating up ladies and gentlemen. Couture vs. Lesnar could perhaps be one of the biggest UFC pay-per-views of all time and should he get past Lesnar then he?d be facing the man that he?s wanted to fight for the longest time, Fedor Emelianenko
