Pussy
JK, kind of :)
This will be the second fricking year in a row I miss Mirror Lake due to a job interview somewhere else in the country and boy am I pissed. It is one hell of a time and I recommend all students do it.
As for kegs and eggs, I went to Paninis last year at 5:30 AM and it was a blast. A few scUM fans came in and I doused them with my beer from the balcony. There is no excuses for not drinking extremely early Sat unless you're driving to the game. I might be tailgating for the game at some golf course just outside the Big House
I never was in Columbus during any michigan week, and I knew about this tradition. knowing less than tg05 is not a good sign.From 89 thru 95 I never saw any of this jumping in to the lake business.....

Sounds like so-eone was studying or some shit like that.
Speaking of 'some shit', should you get some for skipping one 'm' and then typing it in 'some'?
I jumped in Mirror Lake twice: both for Cooper's only wins against scUM in '94 & '98.
I would highly, highly, HIGHLY advise against it: the water is very dirty, and if its 10 degrees out (like it was when I did it in '98), its not a good feeling afterwards.
Sloopy.
We were there at the same time. I never jumped but thought it was funny watching people jump in and break numerous legs.
I think many people thought the lake was 5-6ft. deep but it was only about 2ft. deep and to see people hit the bottom of the lake when they weren't expecting it was painful to watch.
Many were also unaware that the lake bottom was covered by jagged rocks.
I believe the lake has been cleaned out since then and is much cleaner and the rocks have been removed.
Thursday brings out wing lovers, and students that are willing to risk hypothermia in the murky depths of Mirror Lake. The Wing the Wolverines competition will start at 6:30 p.m. in the Ohio Union. This free event includes two contests. The first of the two competitions will be the Ultimate Fan Competition.
<snip>
OSU's infamous Mirror Lake jumper-inners can attend a pre-game party on Thursday night before they waddle through the swampy lake. For two hours, starting at 8p.m., all you-can-eat pizza and all-you-can-drink beer will be available at Panini's Bar and Grill (for the 18-21 set, the beer will be replaced with soda). The proceeds of the night will also be donated to the American Red Cross, and further help Sigma Alpha Mau in their fight against Michigan's chapter.
