IMG Academy OL Mirko Jurkovic Jr has been offered by #OhioState @Kevin_Noon @MarcGivlerBG

Visiting today also.

Is this a hunch based off of the recent visit/offer, or something real coming soon?

Based on info I received from someone VERY close to the situation. It's a little different than the other info out there on the sites right now (on who is in the lead, how quickly), so I'm waiting on clarification of those differences. But from what I was told, it's (as of this moment in time) time to warm up the bananas.

I assume that this is the father (based on the name and South Bend location):

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Mirko Jurkovic, a consensus All-America offensive guard for the University of Notre Dame football team in 1991 and a monogram-winner on the 1988 Irish national championship squad, died at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center (Mishawaka, Ind.) after a battle with cancer. He was 42.

A 6-4, 289-pound, four-year monogram-winner from Calumet City, Ill., Jurkovic started at offensive guard in 1990 and '91 for the Irish. After earning a letter at defensive tackle in 1988 (he backed up left tackle George Williams) he made the move to guard his sophomore season and played more minutes than any other offensive lineman other than the Irish starting five.

As a senior in 1991 he helped the Irish rank sixth nationally in rushing at 269.1 yards per game, playing with a unit that also included tackles Lindsay Knapp and Justin Hall, guard Aaron Taylor and center Gene McGuire. They led the way for a backfield that included leading rusher Jerome Bettis (he ranked fourth nationally in scoring that season) and captain Rodney Culver.

I also assume that coach Warriner established this relationship while he was still at ND and is the reason this recruitment appears to be on the fast track.

Yes, that's his father. Not sure about the relationship with Warriner. I know that the family prefers the midwest having spent most of their time in South Bend up until this year. tOSU and UF are close (they expect an offer from Alabama soon too), but mom especially prefers the midwest. There is no worry of an eventual flip to ND, as they do not have a great relationship right now with the current staff. They want to make a decision in the very near future.

A little bit of a false alarm on the bananas warming up. May not be as quickly as thought earlier today. We are very high up on his list however and our staff likes him a lot. Watch for a potential return visit to be set up. If that happens, then it's banana time.

Interesting...with so many talented OL having us high, the staff must be impressed.
He seems like an interior guy, so I'm curious if 1) this says something about James Daniels or 2) this says something about their confidence that Burrell will stay at tackle.

I think at the end of the day they want three tackles and two interior players.

Prior to this I thought Daniels and Burrell were the interior guys and they'd go after a big time tackle left on the board.
