Go Buckeyes!

  • The Ohio State Men's Baseball Team wraps up its regular season with a 3-game set in Minneapolis against conference foe Minnesota. The Buckeyes enter the series at 36-16-1 (13-8 B1G). The Golden Gophers stand at 33-16 (15-5 B1G). A sweep coupled with an Indiana loss in their series against Nebraska could possibly give the Buckeyes the B1G lead.

    Bucks take Game 1

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State baseball team continues to roll in the month of May. The Buckeyes scored a run in the top of the ninth, while the OSU pitching staff was strong once again in a 3-2 victory at No. 24 Minnesota Thursday night at Siebert Field in Minneapolis, Minn. With the win over the first-place Golden Gophers (33-17, 15-6), the Buckeyes (37-16-1, 14-8 B1G) extend their win streak to seven-consecutive games, including five victories against Top 25 opponents, and move to 1.5 games back with two to go.

“The story for me was our pitching staff,” head coach Greg Beals said. “Another workman-type outing for Tanner Tullly tonight, maybe not his best stuff, but gave us six solid innings. Seth Kinker came in and did a great job to get us out of a situation with runners on first and second and nobody out. Michael Horejsei gave us two innings for the victory and we left him to pitch the ninth inning. It was a little untraditional but we were going matchups and he executed very well for us.

Shit, I forgot about dUMb. They are also 13-8 with 2 left vs Illinois. If they sweep and we lose one, we will be behind them <shudder>. Anyone know why they (dUMb) have 1 less conference game than the rest of them?
