The Golden Gophers enter the final week of play in first place by a game at 13-8. Michigan and Purdue are tied for second place at 12-9, and Northwestern is in fourth place at 11-10. Iowa, Indiana, Michigan State and Ohio State are all tied for fifth place at 10-11.

    Twitter tells me that..

'Wimmers (9-0, 1.61) says he is about 80% but is prepping for Friday start.'

I know how important this series is, but i would hate to see something bad happen. If he feels anything less than 100%, i don't think he should go this weekend.

This is not looking very good at all:(

Officials are sweating the possibility of playing host to the Big Ten baseball tournament at Ohio State's Bill Davis Stadium without the Buckeyes in the field.

The top six teams qualify, and the Buckeyes were one of four teams tied for fifth place last night entering a season-ending three-game series with first-place Minnesota.

After last year's event in Huntington Park, the Big Ten awarded the tournament to Columbus for three years, even though that venue wouldn't be available this year. Organizers said it would take a few years to build attendance, but not having Ohio State in the field could be a big setback.

Even if the Buckeyes make the field, their seeding might not help ticket sales. The fifth seed plays the fourth seed at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday, the sixth seed plays the third seed at 3:35 p.m., then the losers of those games meet at 12:05 p.m. Thursday. So it's possible the Buckeyes could qualify and never play a night game.

The Buckeyes, once ranked #14 in the nation, are now in 8th place in the Big Ten and are in danger of missing the Big Ten Tournament that they are hosting.

This is Todd's worst coaching year by far. Even ChinMusic couldn't argue with that.
