Game Thread Minnesota at #1 tOSU, Sat. Oct. 4th, 7:30 pm ET, NBC

The critique I have of Hartline is what I’ve had for the majority of his time here. He needs to rotate more… I understand JJ is generational but I’d rather see 100% JJ and 100% Mylan Graham subbing in.

Seeing the snap counts for Washington is a bit concerning. Hopefully it’s just because we needed the win (I think it is) but there’s a few players we can’t afford to lose.

Hopefully we can rest KJ on defense to rest his knee, get kmac out because he’s important, and get the young skill on offense some reps this week because the concern has to be this team will either lose someone they can’t afford to lose or we’ll lose a game we shouldn’t because they’re worn down.

They’ve said it’s a long season and that’s why they’re playing slow. But maybe instead of playing slow we just substitute more?

Day was run 80 plays a game guy. With the long playoffs he’s burn the clock guy be efficient and get out with a win. 8 possessions will be normal.

They weren't. The DL pushed, but didn't try to beat blocks, just hold them, and kept their heads up against the QB. Whether to slide off and tackle, or put their long arms up to block the pass, dunno, but both would have worked. And do not discount keeping Arvell in to spy on the QB. Rewatched the game, and saw several times, Arvell just bouncing on his feet, holding in his LB position, just waiting for the QB to try to run. Great calling on the D, haven't seen (been aware?) that before. But yes, was surprised to see the 1's in the game fourth quarter. Only can think they wanted to preserve the no-TD inside the red zone streak. But losing a starter is a pretty high price to pay, especially the QB. Personally, would have Lincoln in there, to get some reps in, and protect Julian. But hey, what do I know?
