I guess the PC Police were not pleased with his first one. :slappy:

It's funny, but it also speaks to the hypersensitivity these days. People are "offended" so easily.

Well yeah, but that still doesn;t change the fact you gotta know that shit when you put the headset on.

For those who missed it:
1.) Who cares?
2.) Shouldn't all this be in a different thread? It has nothing to do with the game!
3.) Why was Montoya's name even mentioned? I'm not a NASCAR fan / follower (GPS: left turn 500 feet.) Is he important? If so, what?...
4.) Colombian's aren't famous for eating Taco's, so why should anybody apologize? Maybe that's like calling somebody a Mexican - If so, is that an insult? Sometimes I'm a bit dense, just explain please...
5.) Who cares?

Drop it (or move it), You're interfering with my Buckeye' conversations. If you do - Please! - move it, move this post right along with it.

I think I saw that post over at scout. :slappy:

I stopped by after the game and they were going off like we had lost.

Ah, Scout posters are in a league of their own.

"OMG Prior sux did u see him posing 2 teh camerra after he scored TD :smash: he has altitude problemz tresel has 2 fire his qb coach :smash: he only hyred him becoz of teh tresel freindz and fammily plan he only hirez ppl from yongstone state fire bolmen the oline sux 2 :smash: and teh D they werrent good today i think they are regrassing badly aswell OMG :smash: is pryer any good i dont think so i wish we had tate or denard tehy are reel deel on qb but tresel only hire freind and fammily :smash: ...."

on and on ad infinitum. Reading that board, you'd think Minnesota had blown us out 38 - 7 in the Shoe and that Pryor had 6 turn-overs...

The issue is over now, but:

1) Apparently a lot of people, judging by the number of posts about it
2) Well it was during the game, so actually it kind of does anyway
3) It was a NASCAR promo...the funny thing is, Spiels set it all up by saying "Where is Juan Pablo Montoya?" after the PBP guy read the top 5 in the standings
4) Many have stated the obvious double standards, of which I am no fan...but then again, one knows this when they put the headset on
5) Everyone is free to care or not, of course.

It will cost Bob 1 week for the 'Griese taco' remark.

CBS

Broadcaster Griese suspended for Montoya remark

ESPN broadcaster Bob Griese has been suspended one week for a remark he made about NASCAR driver Juan Pablo Montoya.

ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz says Griese will not be working a game this week.

Krulewitz says ESPN has spoken to Griese and "he understands the comment was inappropriate."

During ESPN's broadcast of the Minnesota-Ohio State game Saturday, a graphic was shown listing the top five drivers in NASCAR's points race. Fellow analyst Chris Spielman asked where was Montoya, who is Colombian.

Griese replied he was "out having a taco."

He has twice apologized on air for the remark.

Montoya is declining to comment on Griese's suspension. He brushed off the remark Sunday, and said he'd never heard of Griese.
