MiLB General Discussion (Official Thread)

The book by the owners of the Bananas is a good read. They basically scraped together the last of their money (husband and wife) and turned an awful team into one that sells out every game. Their product is entertainment and they do an exceptional job.

are they the team that made it a rule if a foul ball is caught by someone in the crowd, batter is out?

I'd say so.

I'm now looking at their schedule to find a good weekend for a (surprising long from Northern GA) road trip to Savannah.

Question for those who know something about the business model of owning high value digital content….

Is it a good idea to give access to your content to a distributor (Apple tv) and agree to black out that content on your own site when the distributor is using it?

Seems less than ideal for content owner but I don’t know how much the distributor is paying for the privilege.

I do know for sure, as a subscriber to MLB.com, that having random games blacked out because they are being shown on another streaming service is fucking infuriating.
