Many other links out there... might be able to make something on this if we can figure out exactly which consoles are being replaced, I've heard it is the 60gb ones sold circa 2009 but cannot confirm... anyone get the email and want to share the hdd size, date of manufacture, and power block wattage and we may be able to figure this one out.

Posting not only to figure this out hopefully but also so people don't think the email is spam/false as it has been confirmed through multiple outlets.

Microsoft is Helping an Xbox Live Hacker "Develop His Talent"
Luke Plunkett — Around a month ago, Xbox Live users were alerted to a phishing scam on popular online title Modern Warfare 2. You'd think this was the work of nefarious group, but no, it was a single perpetrator. Who Microsoft is now working with? According to Microsoft's Paul Rellis, the culprit responsible has been caught, and discovered to be a...14 year-old Irish kid. What's more, instead of punishing the boy or turning him over to the law, Rellis says that Microsoft is "working with the teenager to develop his talent" in an attempt to "help him use his skills for legitimate purposes".
Interesting considering the Sony situation

For anyone with a 4gb slim, amazon is selling a 60gb starter kit for 39.99. It comes with a Mic and 3 months of XBL. Click on an amazon banner on BP and search for 60gb starter.

You can open up the drive with a torx wrench (t6 and t10), slide out the hard drive, and slide it right into the hard drive slot.

If you want a case to make the fit more snug, you can get a 360 slim hard drive enclosure for 5 bucks on eBay.
