Michigan State 13, MICHIGAN 31 (final)

That is a big difference. Back to no Stanton, no Ringer, no chance.

Though, the official line from the Spartan site remains bruised ribs - you would think they might tip the wink to their own fanbase? Regardless, their injury woes are numerous.

EAST LANSING - Adding injury to the insulting 23-20 loss to Big Ten floormat Illinois, the Michigan State Spartans suffered three injuries that threaten to devastate the football teams hopes for an elusive bowl game. MSU starting guard Daniel Zynn suffered a broken ankle and is lost for the season. Zynn's injured compounds the poor play by the offensive line. State had already lost guard Kenny Shane to a knee injury after Peter Clifford, the season opening starter to a knee injury.
The Spartans coaching staff appeared to make the situation worse by trying to rush Clifford back into the action and he was unable to hold up. The team then inserted center John Masters and starting center Kyle Cook moved over to the left guard position. That lineup is likely to stick.
There are published reports that starting running back Javon Ringer suffered a torn medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his knee but the Michigan State staff will not confirm nor deny that. Ringer vowed after the game to come back before the season ended, but if the reports are accurate he is likely done for the season as well.
The Spartans may also be without the services of Drew Stanton who suffered bruised ribs trying to run with the football. Sophomore backup Brian Hoyer entered the game and rallied the team putting up 10 fourth quarter points to give MSU a chance to win the Illinois game.
Michigan State must try to regroup and get ready to face #6 Michigan in Ann Arbor on Saturday.
