Michigan St 64, Louisville 52 (Final)

Spartans' Morgan likely to play with broken nose

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - A broken nose won't keep Michigan State's Raymar Morgan of the Midwest final.

The starting forward says he will be fitted for a protective mask and plans to wear it during Sunday's game against top-seeded Louisville.
Morgan was injured during Friday night's 67-62 victory over defending national champion Kansas. Coach Tom Izzo says Morgan did not play well before the injury and was even less productive after it. Izzo's biggest concern Saturday was how quickly the versatile junior will adjust to the mask. Morgan's averaging 10.5 points and 5.4 rebounds, second on the Spartans in both categories.

I wouldn't be too productive after sustaing a broken nose either. However, you wouldn't notice any drop off since I wouldn't have been very productive to begin with.

The first half was definitely played at Sparty's pace. The Cards better find an answer to Suton in the second half - he has 17, already.

:msu: leads 30-27 at the break.

Raymar Morgan has 0 points and 3 fouls, yet it's tied at 30.

His disappointing season continues, although if they get to Detroit...

If MSU hangs on to this victory, they will have played a great game to defeat the #1 overall seed and the refs. 20 - 11 foul disparity in Louisville's favor, despite Louisville being the team that presses full court and over-pursues on defense.
