Let me guess:

Lloyd Carr is one step closer to redemption?

If they win a bowl game, do you think people will act like "App State, Shmap State" (That Oregon loss does not look so bad)

My boss explained it like this: Michigan is more about loyalty to the school and program, Carr will leave when he wants to leave. If he leaves this year it will be because HE doesn't think he can do any more good for the program.

Hell, they kept Bo for 24 years and how many NC's did he win? I'll give you a hint the number is less than 1.

Besides, why the hell would tOSU fans want Carr fired? Tressel owns him, at this point I am waiting to read in the papers about how he got "Tressel's Bitch" tattooed on his shoulder.

I've already made my opinions known. I don't expect Michigan to lose another game until the Game. And the reason again is that Michigan does what it does best: beating teams that suck even more than they do.

Don't sleep on the Michigan/Michigan State game in two weeks.

That could be a trap game, IMO.

Absolutely could be a trap game. Actually, the Purdue game was supposed to be a trap game too. The spread was supposedly too much for Michigan. This game was supposed to be a trap game too, because Michigan would have a hard time winning without Hart. However, I stand by what I said.

Fixed it. And yes. I don't know if winning a bowl but losing The Game would equal redemption, but I do know what would.

And why shouldn't Carr get a little credit? So far this season, he's taken a program that was at the lowest point it had ever been and got it back to respectability and believing in itself again. I said earlier this team appears to have a circle-the-wagons outlook on life right now and that seemed to be borne out tonight.

So, the game. To recap....

- Can't stop a running quarterback.
- Can't stop the spread option.
- Can't win without Mike Hart.
- Can't win in a tough place like Memorial Stadium.

Can. And did.

Next up - the worst team in the Big Ten.

I respectfully disagree. I don't think Michigan sucks, I think they ran into two teams that had the special players at the right positions which exploited their weakness (which they finally made an adjustment today to the same type of team; only 3 halves late among the three games- they should have changed at half of the Appy State team). Do you see what is happening all over the country? Parity has never been more prevalent. Some people are calling Oregon one of the top teams in the country. Let's not let this fall out of reasonable perspective, Michigan is a good football team.

I completely agree with your point about parity. However, I do dispute your assertion that Michigan does not suck, because they did lose to Appl State. Yes, adjustments should have been made. Coaching blunders should have been avoided. But you are talking about App. State. The fact of the matter is, playing against any offense that can really stretch vertically, and I don't mean the little dinkin and dunkin that Purdue does, Michigan does not have the answers on the edges to keep up. Ohio State does, Michigan doesn't. Notre Dame doesn't either.

The edges aren't the issue here, it's the interior of the defense. Shawn Crable may be one of the best LBs in the country. And Appy State is no joke. I understand that mainstream media doesn't understand, neither does anyone you've spoken with about it. But I tell you, the ONLY place Michigan was dominant (position to position) was in the trenches. I assume you aren't aware that I-AA schools are becoming more saturated with former D1A-caliber talent when D1A reduced the number of schollies? Guess which D1AA programs are getting the best of this new crop of talent? Possibly the National Champs?

I'm sorry but tsun just handed UI the knife, exposed their throat, dared UI to do it and the Zookers somehow managed to stab themselves in the fucking leg.

Do they spend 15 minutes at the beginning of every Illini practice working on doing dumb shit at critical times?

I will say that without Hart and with Henne out for half the game I thought they were fucked, but they came back, and did what a good team does. They made a lot of mistakes but only suffered 3 points for them, the Illini suffered one major mistake that pretty much cost them the game.

However.

Come on H2M, this is the Illini, you're not facing a top 25 team, you are facing a coach who's done the worst thing possible, he's made his quarterbacks unsure of thier position. Texas told Tressel that was a bad idea, and they were right, it's never good, it never works, you make your quarterbacks try more than they can do.

Congrats on the win, I bet on you guys, I don't think you will lose another game before 11/17. App State was an upset and Oregon is one of the best teams in the country, that's your two losses, however, just like every other year, tOSU and tsun are better than the rest of the Big10.

By the way, the "worst team in the big10" runs a really nice spread, they could move the ball on us in between the 20's, so don't go counting that as an easy win. Tsun's corners still need some work, however, if Hart is back I think you win by 20.

I said that MSU had a real chance to give us a hard time because of Dantonio's defense and they did. Now I will say this. Don't count scum out, they have turned things around and probably will be undefeated between now and when we play them. They will be ready to play us, so just forget about their first two losses and start thinking that we have to play our absolute best game to beat them because that is what is going to have to happen. Our offense had better learn to play a full game and not have the out of synch periods they seem to have during every game.
