I hate the guy, but it wouldn't hurt..

Not worth it. I don't think any rational fan would base any of the Big-10's rep on Mike Hart's success in the NFL. Sure, some idiot redneck SEC fan would probably make some remark about one of the all-time leading rushers in the Big-10 not being able to make it in the NFL but you can't reason with those types anyways. I hope Hart gets cut and has to fall back on his major at scUM.

..how is it bad? Anytime a player from the Big 10 proves himself, it's a plus for the conference. Maybe not in the eyes of Big 10 fans, but outside of our conference it would certainly help.

I'm not saying I want him to be the next LT. I just don't see how it would be anything but good for the conference if he were good enough to make the team.

I'll be shocked if he doesn't make the team. It's not uncommon for a team to carry four runningbacks. As much as I hate the little guy, he's a helluva football player and should be a decent backup in the NFL. It will help that he won't have a coach running his injury prone body into the ground.

Even if the B10 were being praised as the current top conference by the nation's fanatic base and national media, I still couldn't bring myself to wish Hart or any other former scum player cut from his respective NFL team. The rivalry just doesn't move into that realm much for me. If you played college football at a high level then I wish you nothing but the best while competing at the next level. Furthermore, with the current hourly bashing of the conference, this viewpoint is intensified to the point where not only do I hope Hart isn't cut, but I hope he's successful and gets opportunities to carry the rock for the Colts. I hated his guts at meechigan, but he's a colt now. Who knows, maybe he'll get his wish and beat the Bucks... Tampa Bay.

I only saw him play one series in the preseason game the other night. But he looked good. (As good as a former scUM player can look to these Buckeye eyes).

Anyway, I think he'd make a pretty good pro back. He's just so elusive in the hole and really picked his way around. Plus he's so short he's hard to see.

That said...I'm sure I'll root for him just like I've always supported Tom Brady...yeah right...I was one happy camper during the Super Bowl when the Giants finally starting hitting that pretty boy.

Even when it potentially hurts OSU's ability to recruit?
Michigan backs have grossly underachieved for awhile. Over a decade's worth of osu rbs have not done much.

5-star rb verbals in the last 7 years?

Maldanado.
Clarett.
MoWells. (one time 5star, highly coveted by Petey)
Beanie.
Torrence.

Meh... let 'em make the practice team. Let the starters toss him around like a flipp'n rag doll.

I'll pull for almost any tsun kid to make it at the next level... once part of the great tradition... I think I owe it to them to pull for them. Mike Hart? Fuck Mike Hart.

Little brother? Let's see who the little brother is now bitch.

Have you seen the classes JT has been pulling in lately? He has put together some of the best classes in the few years despite the reputation of the conference.

I know you said potentially but the conference reputation has had no effect on our recruiting so far, especially in the South.

Agree. Certain coaches will always get their recruits, JT being one of those guys. As long as he continues dominating the conference and putting kids in a position to get to the next level, he will continue to in spite of what is going on up north or with the rest of the conference. The um name used to be able to attract kids on reputation and has a great history of putting kids in the NFL, but thus far DickRod's recruiting has been somewhat lackluster by um standards....particularly on defense. Is that a part of his lack of success putting kids into the NFL at wvu? I think it's a part of it, but time will tell.

Holy crap...strayed way off topic there...um, fuck Bike Hart.
