Michael Phelps - How many gold medals in Beijing?

I am sorry but I have a very good friend whose son is on a swimming scholarship at one of the better schools in the country and I know how hard he has worked to qualify for the NCAA's. Seeing this stuff about Phelps almost makes me vomit. Just because you won so many Olympic gold medals I think that he thinks he is above other athletes. If I were one of his sponsors, I would pull the plug on him immediately because you can get so many other athletes who are not only good in their sport but also know how to conduct themselves in their private life. Obviously, Phelps does not:!

he's on a hiatus from training and he went to a party. that hardly means he doesn't know how to conduct his private life. like i said, his only mistake was letting some kid take a picture of it.

It sure is a good example and word on the street is that this is not the first time he has conducted himself in this manner.

For those of you who have played the violin and think that no one should be concerned about his private life obviously are not thinking about the younger generation that idolized him when he is seeing endorsing a product on national TV. Excellent example for our youth. Maybe some of you don't care... I do.

 Not the kids!!! :tibor:

People like you are the reason why we're still spending billions on DARE. If anything, Mike needs to grow up and do coke like an adult.

I saw an interview w/ someone from the Olympic Anti-Doping Agency or whomever is in charge of that stuff, and they basically said as long as he-Phillips- didn't test positive the day before a race, they could care less what he was doing-the guy didn't act like it was a very big deal.
This country is highly hypocritical about marijuana,IMO.

As Kellogs dropped their sponsorship of Phelps he's clearly on the lookout for another corporate sponsor in the breakfast and health foods market ...

might I suggest:

Look it's even won a gold medal and everything!
Plus, with all those Omega-3's Phelps will be swimming like a fish, a very fast 6-7 fish.

As you pointed out in Santonio's thread, he is a cereal offender.

I feel bad about bashing Michael Phelps so I want to come clean. When I grew up I used to think everything about swimming was pure. I'd go to hotel pools with my parents and I'd splash around thinking there could be nothing better than being in the water with my family and friends. Living near the ocean I'd be at the beach with friends and I felt so free out in the water. Then I heard some shocking news...people actually urinate in pools. There are a bunch of other behinds the scenes things I wont even go in to but needless to say I started to question my stance on swimming. Michael Phelps smoking out of a bong got to me. Smoking out of a device that contains the very thing he became famous for swimming through was the final straw. I'll always love swimming and water but I'm just dissapointed.

Speaking of coming clean, I'm sure there jizz in some of those pools also.

Sorry to disillusion you ever further, Nutty. But I'm eagerly awaiting Part 2 of your saga.

Something tells me it's about how 2girls1cup destroyed his love affair with soft-serve ice cream.

When you were a kid, how many pools in Toledo did you toss Baby Ruth bars into?
