Michael Jackson dies after cardiac arrest

I think that the public ceremony went about as well as it could have, considering how many were waiting for a train wreck. Very classily done. It was one of the few times my whole family got together and watched something that was significant to everyone of us. Can't pay for moments like those, despite the sad circumstances.

Wondering what numbers you came up with here, because I may be missing something, but when I add in the other albums Jackson had he way outsells the beatles. Okay found the right link that you were looking at, and some of the numbers and timeline seem skechy at best. I don't see how you can only count the beatles for 10 years, that would mean that they haven't sold an album since 1970, which I think we would all agree is not true.

I see your point but no evidence to support your claim that Jackson outsold the Beatles or Elvis. Michael Jackson's total on this list (link) includes the Jackson 5, but the Beatles total, which is higher, does not include the solo work of Paul McCartney, Wings or any of their solo work. Even if he did, Jackson had a creative lifespan (of 45 years) during which he produced albums that far exceeded the lifespan of the Beatles (10 years) and Elvis (24 years).

In my opinion, music by all three of these artists will be heard at least occasionally fifty years from now.

I realize no one is talking about this but what do you guys make of this? Would any parent here actually take a settlement of any amount of money knowing that the man who molested your child would not be in jail? Not saying the guy isn't a complete whacko, just some food for thought. (and yes i know someone posted a similar link earlier)

I'll believe it when the major press outlets start reporting it...that blog wasn't very solid at all.

Good think Wacko Jacko owned the Beatles music rights :)

I agree, and I think it will be interesting to see what artists from this time period my kids and grandkids will listen too..

For feistyredheadAZ and all other "trufans" out there, this one is for you.

WE ARE THE CHILDREN is a documentary film that dives deep inside the world of a group of Michael Jackson fans during the 2004-05 trial. The story delves beyond the tabloidesque media coverage of the crazy fan to uncover the human faces of the dedicated supporter. Following a group of California fans from dance parties on Hollywood Blvd to court proceedings in Santa Maria, and vigils at Neverland, WE ARE THE CHILDREN brings some three-dimensionality to people often written off as humorous freaks. The nonjudgmental, unflinching eye of the camera documents fan club gatherings, music collections and impersonators, as fans tell personal tales of inspiration about the King of Pop.

Holy sh*t:

Is that a lot? - What Would Tyler Durden Do

The National Enquirer goes on sale today with a cover story claiming Michael Jackson took... well I mean you can see it. It's right there.
That's more than 50 pills a day - more than 30 different types of drugs "for a variety of real and imagined" problems, according to police sources close to the official investigation.
"He was literally living on drugs," a close source divulged.
Well, he wasn't "literally" living on drugs but whatever. We shouldn't jump to conclusions. What's the recommended daily allowance on painkillers? Is it four? Because he was taking four. Maybe he wasn't getting enough from his diet alone. And what better way to know what sedative or stimulants work best than to put 8 of them in your system at the same time and let em fight it out?

This is sad/disgusting/disturbing if even remotely accurate.
