Miami (FL) Hurricanes (1926-2003)

Especially in Miami.

In fact, if I hear about anyone becoming a billionaire based out of Miami, I start to wonder where the money came from.

Even this guy only made it to $900 million.

IMO, older players like this coming back as visitors for camps almost reeks of desperation. Some of these players are so old, that the parents would be more happy to see a player like Lamar Thomas or Michael Irvin than the kids. A teenager born in 2006 or 2005 could care less about a player that played in the 80s and 90s. I would see no point in having Chris Spielman talk to recruits, I'd rather have AJ Hawk, Bobby Carpenter at the oldest. At least they have popular podcasts, so the kids know their names and faces.

But today’s 16 and 17-year olds think 2 Live Crew is off the hook, so maybe they can bring 60-something, current HS football coach Uncle Luke back to their sidelines.

You mean, todays 16 and 17yos think a sample that Drake used of 2 Live Crew is off the hook. Teenagers don’t know who the hell 2 Live Crew is from New Edition.
Just like I’d say many HSers in Cali think Snoop is an actor/spokesman/coach more than a former biggest rapper in the genre

So, what's the break down of this? Because I read that Rashida took a $9.5m deal from the Hurricanes

Been hearing a lot of different numbers and rumors.

Apparently Heitner (who is a UF alum, and a lawyer who helped wrote the NIL laws in Florida) is upset at
Caspino (California-based lawyer who functions as a NIL agent for quite a few recruits) about going on record to On3 stating that Florida and Miami got into a bidding war for Rasheda, and he denied that Florida offered the kid any money.

It's really confusing and convoluted, but I think it's best summarized as "he said, she said," and that Miami definitely did pay somewhere between $5-$11m for 4 years for Rasheda, depending on who you ask. I think $9.5m is the number that Caspino claims was paid.

Also, Cristobal is rumored to be creating a buzz for Miami, IMO a lot has to do with the 1st year excitement from an alum. But still hasn't brought in elite lineman to help the skill positions.

More like Ruiz is creating a buzz for Miami by throwing money around (like the Nevin Shapiro days, but somewhat more legally). It's still June, so I'm not going to laugh and point at anyone's recruiting rankings, but Miami (unlike Notre Dame) is ranked around 34, next to Colorado, Rutgers, and SMU, at the moment. And that's after procuring the Rasheda commitment.

Again it's still very early and a lot could change, but it's not like they're in the top 5 or 10 right now. Not sure what they're so "buzzed" about down there.
