Miami (FL) Hurricanes (1926-2003)

Sunday: ACC announces the entire officiating crew is suspended two weeks.

Monday: ACC announces Corn Elder is ACC Special Teams Player of the Week.

That is great logic there. On Sunday the ACC says the refs blew the call and the play would not have resulted in a TD if they made numerous correct calls. Yet they give the Special Team Player of the Week to the player who scored a TD on a non existent TD according to their statement on Sunday.

It will be nice to see the ACC go away once we assimilate UNC and Virginia.

Pathetic. Cry about a correct call that costs you and then gloat about an abysmal call that helps you. Typical Cryami

I would imagine that it would take away from the joy I'd feel after a play like that if I learned that the officiating crew has been suspended for 2 games because of that play.
As much as Penn State fans like to whine about officiating, have any of the crews been suspended after one of their games?
I guess that just further proves that it's Big Ten conspiracy, and not incompetence.

The only Big Ten crew I remember being suspended was after the 2007 Ohio State - Illinois game. The same crew received criticism for the Purdue - PSU game earlier in the season.

Brinson says if the block in the back had been called the ball would have been placed on the 16 and Miami would have an untimed play. Hmmmm. I thought the only time you can have an untimed play is if the DEFENSIVE team commits a foul. If it's on the offense the half/game ends on the call.

Good catch, in fact I seem to recall a 10s runoff when the offense commits such a penalty... not that it would have been applicable in this case.
