Game Thread Miami (FL) at tOSU, Sat Sep 11, 3:40 ET, ESPN

Oh right, I forgot the embarrassing-gimmick-play. Can't forget about that travesty!

In all seriousness, I think it's a trench game. If Miami can keep Harris vertical and Harris can keep Harris from throwing stupid picks, it could be entertaining. Our safeties could be a little wobbly that early in the season. If our OL asserts itself, though, it's hard to see how we lose. JT will grind and grind and grind the ball on the ground, and we've got the depth to tote the rock and control possession for extended periods of time.

If we can utilize our speed that will help also. Ill say this. This is the first time in years where this team got the approval of the former canes during spring ball. Sometimes i wonder if Shannon has a death wish with his scheduling.

That is a nice sound bite for ESPN to use, but what exactly do you mean by that? Lots of post routes? Speed rush off the edge?

If Ohio State controls the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, something I think we are very capable of doing, speed won't be much of a factor as far as I am concerned. Especially considering Ohio State has plenty of speed to burn as well.

Heck most of our linebackers run 4.4 sub 4.5 speed. Hopefully Sean Spence bounces back after a sophmore slump.

So when the Boren brothers run their ass over on on an iso play right up the middle they can bounce back up and make a valiant effort to chase the play down from behind?

I highly doubt that Ohio State is going to be running toss plays on the edge, so LB speed won't matter much.

Look, Ohio State doesn't have speed. It's a widely believed fact.

If you had bothered to read some of the comments from our new friend from Alabama, you'd also know that Southern Heat is just as bad for us. You keep harping on our obvious Northern Speed disadvantages, but you completely ignore our Northern Heat disadvantages. To me, this shows that you are only a casual fan and not clear on the true nuances of the game.

That's our strength. This Miami team has some crazy speed all over the field. Heck most of our linebackers run 4.4 sub 4.5 speed. Hopefully Sean Spence bounces back after a sophmore slump.

Our 2002 team was as fast as, if not faster than, your 2002 team, which is why we won the NC game. Our 2010 team is much faster than our 2002 team, so spare us with your "crazy speed" bullshit...
