Game Thread Miami (FL) at tOSU, Sat Sep 11, 3:40 ET, ESPN

Great game! The Buckeyes are an awesome team. Good win over a decent team.

For all the holding they were doing, Miami rarely got called. Several times it was deju vu from the NCG. The rules don't allow the opposition to disrobe you, at least at that level. :wink2: Saw at least one time where the o-lineman held our d-lineman by the facemask. Arrrgh!

On offense, our holes weren't as big as usual, and the sweeps seemed to take too long to develop. Playing against a fast d-line? That would be admitting there is "southern speed". :! This shouldn't be a problem again until we get past the patsies (first two games) of the B10 schedule. By then the problem, if there is one, should be taken care of.

and I can't say it enough: Great game! The Buckeyes are an awesome team.

Um, yeah...

Something tells me that the game to travel to OSU to watch, is UMich @ Buckeyes. Lotsa' love in the air

I don't get to see it much any more, but the best commercial I ever saw, was that ESPN bit where the girl picks up the hitchhiker, and she's a Mich fan, and he's an OSU fan, and he jumps back out of her moving car?

Fugging Classic !

How'd you guys like that other commercial, where the guy and the girl are making out, and one has an OSU shirt, and the other had a Mich shirt?
That is my favorite CFB commercial of all time!Anyboby got a link or know where I can find it?

Here ya go:

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bI34H0YJPyc"]YouTube - Ohio State Michigan ..... Disgusting[/ame]

Yea, I'm a Canes fan, but as I said, a CFB fan first and foremost, so first time I saw this a few years back, wife was in the room, and I almost coughed up an organ laughing...

She was like, WTF is wrong with YOU? That shit ain't funny.
I was like, honey, you wouldn't understand.

Would kind of defeat the whole deal, if ya gotta sit there and explain the OSU/UM rivalry...

"I love you SOOOOOO much"

Bwahaha - fuggin ESPN comes up with some of the funniest shit.
The other office one with I forget who asking the dude something, and he like appears next to him, 1 sec later he looks again, and he's like 50ft away? Forgot the speedster player...

The one with the hitchhiker is funny, but this one ABOVE is a riot!

Hell of an enjoyable game if you're a Buckeye.

Much can be said about TP in this game, and the national media is, not surprisingly, piling on. However, winning is what matters, and against his last few highly ranked opponents he has done what he needed to lead his team to victory. That includes the Wisky, Penn St, Iowa and Oregon game last year, and obviously this one.

He needs to improve, and absolutely will, but this has been a solid start to the season for him. He's had flashes of brilliance, but hasn't made any major mistakes. Sure, there were some near picks, but that happens. The fact is, he gutted out some key runs, made a some great passes when we really needed it and kept his composure.

I'd like to say, although TP is not a "ferocious" runner by any means, he does not shy away from contact. He is constantly lowering the shoulder and taking the contact, he rarely runs out of bounds. The Chris Leak comparison is laughable, as Leak was more Peyton Manning esque' runner. Meaning, he bit it as soon as he thought there would be contact. Pryor is no Tebow, thats for sure. But, thats not what Tress' system calls for. Rewatch yeterdays game, TP takes the contact 90% of the time.

The defense was excellent, not because of the picks but because they way they tackled and played their positions. Well disciplined, hard working and QUICK. B-Rolle nearly had the pick on Harris' last pass, and he and Homan looked good, as well as the entire d-line.

As long as we keep building on these performances, this should be a special year. Terrelle will need to work on the short passes, but that will come with time.

Go Bucks, bring on the Bobcats

the cryami boards are hilarious

"Ohio State didnt win, we beat ourselves" is the general moron DUH U fan consensus

someone should notify them they scored 10 offensive points

and without 2 return coverage breakdowns by Ohio State, its a complete blowout

I'd like to see a few misdirection running plays added to our arsenal. That would have helped yesterday against that very quick defense. But we may have played the fastest defense we'll see before Bowl season.

Why ya think I stopped going there?
I stopped when it was still grassy.com, man, gotta be 8-10 years ago.

Those guys don't have any respect for each OTHER, much less fans of other CFB teams...

3 picks were on the receivers... 2 drops were worth TD's, Our D dropped 3-4 INT's

Mistakes killed us, and we killed ourselves.
What'd OSU do?
Everything right - hardly any mistakes at all.

And that last drive, for like 8 minutes, was a thing of beauty - CLOSING out the game, playing 60 minutes of football, hard-nosed in-your-face football.

Good game, but the difference in maturity level, and "bringing along" of the players, showed big time. That receiving corps, which was praised in the pre-season, let the team down.

The D played well, containing the bleeding by limiting OSU to FG's, but IMO, the Canes players should be WAY further along than they are...

Miami's OL got away with a shit-ton of holding. Rewatch the game, and on virtually every designed pass play you see at least one instance of holding. They might as well as put a fucking lasso around Cam...

I guess that pic doesn't display such a bad instance since the tackle essentially still has his hands inside. My favorite holding non-call, however, was when Cam had his man beaten, was past him and on his way to Harris, and the Miami OL simply grabbed him by the back of the jersey and pads and wrestled him to the ground, no call. The announcers actually made a point of noting how obvious the hold (read: tackle) was. I thought the officiating was pretty pathetic going both ways for most of the game, but I felt like we were on the raw end of that more often than not, particularly in the first half. It was great to see our guys not let it affect them, because it sure as hell affected me while I was watching!

I loved that it was near impossible for a Miami defender to bring Pryor down.....that pleased me immensely.

Regarding his phisicality, part of that is on the coaches.....he got some flack for taking down defenders early in his career (they were trying to prevent injuries)

YouTube - Terrelle Pryor vs Minnesota Defender(Huge Hit)

I was there to see that hit in person. I'm sure Coach would not agree, but I loved it.
