2025 MI QB Bryce Underwood (ttun Verbal)

The sound you hear is my foot tapping, waiting for the NCAA do anything! let alone putting the hammer down on the Wolverweenies. Still waiting.....Just a comment on the TTUN NIL.....they raise one-time money, and while there might be a big start-up amount, keeping that pipeline flowing (from fans corporations etc) is quite a chore. And methinks the donors would want instant gratification from their investment (duh). Sounds easier than would be in reality. Plus, there's that tiny weeny clause (that I've seen in NIL contracts) that 'this offer may be rescinded at any time'. Any recruit signing one of those things deserves what they get.

I will plead complete ignorance because if it is not an OSU recruit I usually dip out. But what is Portnoy offering, is it NIL to a certain to a certain team?
So, Portnoy(douchey scUM alum) went online and publicly offered $3mil to Underwood, then Yoder said he'd provide another $1mil, and now the scUM collective is trying to get the total offer amount to between $10-15mil/4yrs.

I didn't know Portnoy was a scUM alum, that really ruined my morning. But I guess he has the cash to sling for that offer, so be it. I hope this kids sticks with his LSU commitment though.

I wouldn't expect any punishment for scUM until next year at the earliest. They better have every single T crossed and I dotted if they're going to go after one of the biggest brands in CFB, who is also the defending Champs.
As far as NIL, scUM should easily be able to build a massive NIL brand, but they were lazy for a while. There are scUM execs in pretty much every Fortune 500 company, countless politicians, etc, but they didn't mobilize early enough, and instead went hard in the Portal as that didn't cost as much as higher ranked HS recruits. All donors want instant gratification(OSU is a main example, as is every other big name program with a top 5-10 recruiting ranking).
And all NIL offers have fine print(like all financial documents), and I don't think the numbers being publicized are the actual numbers that will be paid out. And I think there will be some major caveats in these deals that could affect rosters adversely. If I'm a current scUM QB, no matter how bad I am, it'd be a slap in the face for this 18yo true frosh to make more than me based on what he did in HS against a majority of players who will never make a D1 roster. On top of that, imagine the bitter OL and skill position players who won't get close to the amount of this true frosh, but have been in the program for years. Football is a team sport, and some of these collectives and fans don't seem to realize that throwing a chunk of money at one player or even 2 or 3 won't drastically affect your team in the way they think. A deal like this could create a ton of resentment...

Michigan’s pursuit of Bryce Underwood has become the biggest story in college football recruiting right now. Led by a reported major NIL push the Wolverines are trying to do everything they can to keep the superstar quarterback home. But a recent visit to LSU has the Tigers feeling confident that they will hang on to the five-star.
At this point, I’m still leaning towards him sticking with his pledge to LSU. Neither choice would surprise me but there hasn’t been much indication that being the “hometown hero” matters to Underwood. So without that emotional pull, it’s tough to see Michigan pulling this off. These type of recruitments change in the blink of an eye though so it’ll be something we all continue to monitor.

Not a question for this recruit, but can anyone point out recent NFL QB success of former players from either Harbaugh at michigan or Kelly at ND? I am drawing a blank.
I don't think there's anybody you can point to as a reason why multiple players are in the NFL. maybe Lincoln Riley. there's not a lot of good QB play in the NFL right now.....it's a lot of people hoping they can get the next Josh Allen, and failing.

Y'all need better radar for the Portnoy and Deion types of people. I like pizza more than most people, but a douche is a douche. I don't care what he has to say about pizza.

Despite it being relatively entertaining for some, he actually doesn't know anything about pizza ironically enough. Guy couldn't tell you the difference between cheese and oregano.
