William Johnson (DB ttun)

Let's employ an equal amount of intellectual honesty, look at the unique circumstances of last year and compare them to all the previous years of Coombs DB developmental track record.

One place has a track record of making DB's 1st round NFL draft picks. Their coaching staff is stable and prospects for being with your son for the next 3-5 years are very good.

The other place has a head coach who was actively looking to leave last year but couldn't get a job so he's back on a dead man walking, school friendly firing contract. Said deadman walking has a new DB coach with zero track record who will be gone with the deadman. As a collective the past 6 years they have done nothing but turn highly touted recruits into underperforming college players and lower round NFL draft picks.

track record of good development vs track record of poor development or no track record at all
coaching staff/program stability vs coaching staff/program chaotic disarray
winning program/culture vs losing program/revenge tour culture

They can see this as clearly as anyone else and still chose the latter of all those comparison points. Let's be honest here indeed; this kids old man just screwed him over. OSU will be fine. His son is the one who is going to pay the price.
I agree. My point was, there are many people who do not see the big picture, and only look at what is immediately before them. You are thinking with common sense. So many people don't.

Honest question here. Has anyone had a better record of killing 5 stars’ careers than the current coaching staff at ttun?

I will say a high round draft pick OR a successful career as an NFL starter would be considered a good career. Even a first rounder that flops at least got paid (so I’d say the school did their job to the player).

All schools hit a flop with a couple of top 100 players every year. But for ttun with harbaugh they seem to be destroying careers of highly touted recruits at an insane beat. They seem about average with the lower ranked kids.

Rashan Gary went first round in spite of being completely wasted at Michigan. Peppers going first was similar.

If you weigh all your options and pick scUM over anyone else, you have deficiencies in the ability to make sound decisions and I have to question both your work ethic and give a damn level. enjoy the adde ‘L’s’ to your name, kid.
Eh I don't think it's the kids fault in this one. From all the noise he liked OSU but his dad wasn't about to let that happen. So more of an issue parents enforcing their views on a child cause of past allegiances.

From 11W article on this:

He doesn’t just want someone who tells him he’s a good man-to-man player, we’re gonna make you the best man-to-man player. He wants somebody that says, ‘hey, when we play zone I’m gonna make sure you’re the best zone corner in the league as well, not just the best press man corner.’ You know? He wants someone who’s gonna develop him all around as a defensive back, not just in one phase.”

Pretty obvious what they are using to recruit against Coombs and OSU now. (or at least how Dad is rationalizing this to himself)

IDK how anyone could rationalize a program built on beating up on scrubs and getting embarrassed against any team with a pulse. scUM, yearly since Hairball has been hired(and actually even going back to the last of the Carr days) has feasted on the Rutgers, Illinois, and Marylands, and then gets curb stomped by OSU.
During Hairball's tenure he's giving up 461yds to OSU, and has gotten 4CBs(1 in the 1st round) drafted and 7DBs(1 1st round S) overall. But you put your future in his hands... :trey:
