The WCC got one less bid than the ACC. That should be enough to quell all the whining and crying and complaining. When San Diego and Temple won their conference tournaments, that would have automatically eliminated a bid from those tier conferences in past seasons...as it is both Gonzaga and St. Mary's and Xavier (deserved to be in anyway obviously) and a marginal St. Joseph's team all made it anyway. If anything I was surprised to see the Valley (MVC) and the Colonial only get one bid each...those are the conferences that have had teams (Creighton, Southern Illinois, VCU, George Mason) make big waves by actually winning some games over qulaity teams and/or pushing them to the brink in previous years.

By the way, can someone tell Billy Packer to shut his bald fat pie-hole? I mean we all know he wants the winner of the ACC tournament to be automatically delcared the NCAA champion, but the incessant ACC whining really does get old. Wisconsin was only a 3, and not a word about that.

Did it ever occur to you that the NCAA pairs up mid-majors in the first round, not as any conspiracy to drive you out of the tournament but rather, as a means of ensuring that some mid-majors advance and increasing the likelihood that one of your miserable little programs will be this year's Cinderella in the Sweet 16 and Elite 8. No, that couldn't possibly be the reason at all. It must be to keep all of the mid-major teams from beating up on the big conference teams in the first round.

Now here's my solution if you consider things so unfair. Leave. Get the fuck out. There is no state or federal law that requires you to remain in the NCAA. Go! Gather up all of your 25K football stadiums (that you can't even fill), your 5K basketball attendance, your measly 5 or 6 non-revenue sports, and your entire money losing athletic departments and LEAVE. Start your own NCAA--the Nobody Cares Athletic Association. You won't be missed.

They won so hopefully they can make some money on the second round game. I haven't been able to find out if the $60,000 guarantee is per game or for the overall tournament. If it is for the overall tournament, they could end up breaking even on the deal.

People can make fun of the CBI if they want to, but I am always a fan of more basketball games. This is no different than the some of the december bowl games.

There isn't anything concrete if the 60k is for just that game or for the tourney. I do know that they will split gate receipts at the next game, whether it is at Cinci or Bradley. OU's coach O'Shea already stated that they will recoup the money next season by playing 1 or 2 additional money games. Maybe Matta will sign up for a game?
