Md. police officers ignore speed cameras

Most teachers are just lazy people who didn't want to work in the summer.

Most doctorbs are foreigners who came here b/c we would pay to educate them but not our own people.

Most mechanics are guys who grew up wrenching on cars and didn't know how to do anything else.

I could go on and on...but I'd rather just stop by making the point how how dumb this shit sounds.

Anyone who is a cop certainly doesn't go into that line of work for the accolades. My points was simply not to judge the cop who just drove past breaking the speed limit...he may be on his way to save your friend or family member's life....

...or, a new Jolly Pirate may have just opened...you never really know.

Everywhere...One small town in southern ohio........Let's see they have a large portion of the people hanging onto their jobs until the "hazing" incident is blown over, and i'd wager money none of them lose their jobs....

Does not compute... My english is a bit weak...

I said I'm glad that NOT EVERYWHERE is like that..Read the whole thing. As a matter of fact I did pick up and move...Maybe if you lived there you could learn first hand..I'd rather have andy and barney there.I have no criminal record. If that is an embarrassment then so be it..I could provide links if needed.:tongue2:

"Not everywhere" - i.e. everywhere is not, or anywhere else is not as corrupt. Again, maybe your superior english skills are just whizzing over my head.

I don't need to live there, or anywhere else, for that matter, to know that there are no rodents masquerading as human beings.

If the point you're trying to make is that the police in your town are either corrupt or unqualified, then that's what you ought to come out and say instead of flinging childish insults and trying to back your opinion up using petty anecdotes.

If you really think this is a problem for you where you've lived, you ought to get others in that town to back your case and get things changed. Otherwise, the only thing I can surmise is that this issue is something of an emotional sore spot for you. Spewing out your anger and frustration about it, on a discussion board no less, is miscued and misdirected.

Vitriol expressed on a discussion board does nothing but inflame. It serves no other purpose. Is that your purpose and motivation in sharing your personal experiences and drawing such problematic conclusions?

Anyone coming out to support you, after your having taking this tack, only seeks to feed a fire fight. They do so solely for the sake of their own entertainment and not because your comments have struck some sensible chord with them.

I suggest you look through the thread and see who has come out in your support. Then, on that basis, you can judge whether your comments were received as being well-reasoned and worthy of debate, or whether they were taken up and used as cannon fodder.

If arousal of hostility is not the purpose of your comments, then I fail to see your point(s)... That not all people are honest? That police officers have inferior intellects? That people who cheat on exams are doomed to a life of corruption? That cronism and nepotism are most prevalent in the ranks of civil/public service?

Supervisors dismissed 76 of those citations after determining the officers were responding to calls or had valid reasons to break the speed limit.

But that left 148 who didn't have that excuse, and about two-thirds of those citations haven't been paid, said police Lt. Paul Starks.

Look, I'm not saying all police officers or departments are corrupt. I am saying that no one has addressed the issues methomps or I quoted from the article.

And that is kind of my point...how can anyone other than Lt. Paul Starks or his officers address that? I wasn't there or involved and am hesitant to speak about a situation that I know nothing about other than what is printed to sell newspapers.

Yet. You still found it necessary to say something?
Aren't you just as guilty? Trying to "sell" your agenda?

Cops have a thankless, dangerous job. They should be given the benefit of the doubt most times.
