2025 MD DB Faheem Delane is a Buckeye!!!

Per 11W poster:

AG says S Faheem Delane should be in this class soon.

Ohio State has controlled this recruitment the entire way, but Oregon had a window of opportunity in January after we let Perry Eliano go. Tim Walton and Matt Guerrieri worked overtime to get Delane’s recruitment back on track.

Importantly, Delane is not going to take his recruitment into the summer like most recruits.

He has known it was going to be either Ohio State or Oregon for months, and this one is going to be wrapped up soon.
Would be amazing if true! Closing on most of your top targets at DB by summer would be amazing! Then focus on getting Brew and McNutt in the fold

The most amazing part is that we would have 4 elite DBs already in that I would have said we had substantially lower odds on than Brew and McNutt...I would fall out of my seat in shock if either of those two didn't end up in Columbus.

The kicker of a class of those 6 guys is the perfect mix of abilities. Delane is a true high safety and McNutt could play any safety spot. Sanchez and Offord are rangy true outside CBs, with Woodby as a perfect slot CB. Then Brew could be a true CB, play a hybrid slot CB/S in Knowles scheme, or just play straight up S.

Faheem Delane

Faheem Delane
Delane is fresh off his official visit to Virginia Tech. It was his first official visit and he really enjoyed seeing how everything works behind the scenes. His older brother,
Mansoor Delane
, is an important part of Virginia Tech’s defense and has been keeping him up to date on everything going on in Blacksburg.

When asked about a leader, Delane split his main contenders into tiers, with Oregon and Ohio State at the top, followed by LSU and then Virginia Tech and Maryland also hanging in contention. The Terps will host Delane for an official visit on May 31 followed by Ohio State, Oregon and LSU each of the following weekends.
The development and talent at Oregon and Ohio State really stand out to him. At LSU, Delane likes the opportunity on the field and the coaching staff. The same can be said for Maryland, too.
Delane has been planning on committing in July but is now thinking about pushing it back.

Wiltfong says Ohio State remains the clear leader for S Faheem Delane.
There is a chance that Delane shuts it down this weekend on his OV.
Brian Dohn also mentioned that he’s watching Delane closely with his official visit to Ohio State this weekend.

Would be a massive boom, I still believe Delane is the best safety in the class. McNutt is better as a cover safety but Delane has the size and speed to play all positions. Similar to Dorian Brew.
