Maybe all JT's rings and long history of success doesn't mean he's a good coach.

I'm glad I have chief blocked, I can only imagine the things he is saying right now, I kinda get a glimpse when people quote him and it makes me even more glad I blocked him.

Go have a charlie weis circle jerk with some other Notre Dame fans and let us talk about our scrimmage please.

The ozone has some new articles up about the scrimmage now. The most important thing I read is that Tressel says none of the injuries are serious.

And Tressel had most of his success with another coach's players...

The other coach could not achieve the on-field success with his own players that Tressel achieved, so how does that become a negative for Tressel? Also, Earle Bruce did not leave the cupboard bare, and the other coach did squat with Bruce's players. So exactly what is the point about this "Other coach's players" comment? Or does it reinforce the notion that Tressel can coach?

The point is that you will NEVER know if your old coach would have won a NC with those players and you have yet to find out if JT can win a NC with his own players.

I am certainly not saying that JT in not a good coach but you have to agree that he cant take all the credit for your NC. He has yet to prove that he can win the big one on his own at this level.

Would of, could of, should of means squat. For one, Clarett would not have been in Columbus if the other coach was around. Take Clarett out of the 2002 picture, and the Buckeyes do not get anywhere near Tempe. So exactly what is the point again?

Who really cares? Why did this thread get hijacked over theory anyway?? Dear god, Tressel has no ambitions for coaching in the NFL. Why would you coach in that league when you can coach a major college team?? NFL coaches move around too much. Who cares about ND football at this point? I do not care either way, until or unless that program has the guts to join a major conference. I do not have an axe to grind against Weiss. I just want to talk about OSU football here. Hopefully, TB is going to be fine because we very well might need him in the first week.

Same point, if all of those draft picks a few years ago were not already at OSU ther would be no NC either. So what is your point?

It is a civil discussion so what s the big deal?

I think he must mean that if JT can't bring in the level of talent John Cooper did, then we don't know if he can win his sixth national title on the college level.

Which, for obvious reasons, is funny. :) Particularly as we sit here poised as one of the very few programs generally considered capable of making USC work for the title. Hmm, and we play two of the others.

I guess he'd have to say the same things about Bob Stoops and Pete Carroll.
