Game Thread Marshall vs tOSU, Thursday Sep 2, 7:30 pm ET, BTN

tOSU-Marshall 1st Half game thread

Well, the long wait is over and glorious Buckeye football is back!

Let's cheer for the Buckeyes, but remember that there are guidelines in game threads, like there have been in the past. No bashing of Buckeyes is allowed, and if the team or an individual is struggling, please be careful about how it is discussed.

Please take a minute to read this former post by Clarity:

Pryor is going to make bad throws. The RBs are going to fumble. The coaches aren't always going to make decisions you/we/they agree with. The announcers are going to say stupid things. We'll see the normal flow (and moderator smack-downs) of trolls. Every season I'm dismayed when I see good regular posters buy game/week bans for getting out of hand during a game. Please, consider this in advance, so I have to send fewer emails saying as much during the season -- the mods and admins have an extraordinarily difficult task during the season, particularly during and after bad games. They're as pissed off/distraught/crestfallen as you are, but they're tasked with and focused upon making sure that BP isn't in a state that adds to people's misery. Let me restate that to be clear, BP should NEVER be a site where fans end up feeling WORSE about a bad situation, and that's what happens when a thread gets out of hand. One 'bad moment' remark invites people to respond in kind, with each post the conflict worsens and the opportunity for people to just talk is lost. I've had my own moments where I've wanted to say some really shitty things during and after games, I try to keep them off the boards (sometimes in PMs, sometimes I don't say them at all, sometimes I try to explain myself to the dogs) -- and 99% of the time I'm glad I did because a little distance lends a lot of perspective. It's easy to rage in the heat of the moment; let's make this a season where more of us think to step back, get away from the keyboard for a moment, and come back ready to contribute in the way everyone here on this site is capable. We pride ourselves, as a site, on our atmosphere and demeanor, let's all do our best to maintain that.

Also, for those who haven't seen it there's a thread where folks can donate to BP based on things like how many points tOSU scores, how many yards TP gets, etc. Bonus vCash can be earned by predicting certain outcomes of the football game. That thread is here.

I have TBDBITL blasting from my stereo (just finished Script Ohio), getting ready to some youtube videos from skull sessions and other band videos, and then its off to Buffalo Wild Wings for the game! Hopefully my girlfriend will decide she wants to come and check out what I'm all excited about (she's not a football person, baseball and soccer mostly), but even if I'm going alone, I'll still be with a large pack of fellow Buckeyes, and that is what really matters.

We'll win the game, or know the reason why! Go Bucks!

I think lots of subs will play tonight which means it won't be quite the blowout we'd all like to see.

I second this....

JT has never really been the "run-it-up" guy like certain SEC and Big 12 coaches who shall remain nameless. I think we are going to see a TON of guys playing, especially considering how hot it is going to be.

:osu: Buckeyes win 41-17

I want to see some big plays, hopefully not every touchdown is a qb sneak or something like that. I also hope our offense can keep it turnover free. Lastly I want to see the oline give TP all the time in the world. Most importantly though lets get out injury free and with a W. :osu::osu::osu::osu::osu:

We'll rack up the same number of points we did vs. Texas Tech on our run to the NC in 2002.

42-10. 3pts during the first half for Marshall, 7 during garbage time.

Big TD pass from Pryor to start the game - 4 plays, 70ish yards (3 pass, 1 run). Ohio State shows a great mix of Pryor from the center, the gun, our stable of RBs. Quasi-vanilla offense (no razzle-dazzle), but lots of good formations to show against Marshall, and burns them.

We score 28pts in the 1st half and 14 in the second. We rest our starters by the 4th quarter in which KennyG scores a TD, assuring the community that we have a great new QB when Pryor leaves.
