mark may = stupid ___hole

I figured that someone would believe that my comments had racial undertones and I believe that is open to interpretation; good or bad. At any rate, I just can't justify why he is working on Gameday other than meeting a quota and that he is an articulate person. I think the guy crosses the line too many times but I realize that is what he is paid to do. Anyway you slice it, white or black the guy chugs cock!

Mark May is an absolute putz. He isn't interested, seemingly, in offering a well thought out, reasonable and rational opinion... He speaks in absolutes and overstatements. May is nothing but a hype machine... hell, he hypes hype. I don't think he's interested in being right or fair or balanced or any of that... He looks to make football interesting by saying things that piss people off. In that regard, mission accomplished.

I am not interested in that kind of analysis, however, so I just don't watch the halftime shows he's doing. There is usually another game on during half, or another sport to check in to for 15 minutes.. in a real pinch, I go spend some time in the bathroom despite not having any real business to tend to.

Couple of points

1-The affirmative action comment was not racist. That said, ESPN should be able to find any number of black commentators that are not the moron that May clearly is. If a game is being played by 60% black players, there should be some black announcers/commentators,IMO. Maybe they should give Andre Ware a try-I have not heard him do a game, but have seen him receive plenty of praise for his work.

2-This isn't fuckin' sucknuts. Can we give the Mark May/Trev Alberts are douchebags threads a burial-we all know it- we don't need to rehash this particular piece of idiocy ad nauseum.

A little known bit of movie trivia. Not only was Mark May on 3 Super Bowl teams, but he had a brief stint in the movies. He played the stunt double for Marcalis Wallace in the Zed the rapist scene in Pulp Fiction. He did quite a nice job with that part.

I spent many years working in sports television and I just wanted to point out that Mili's 100% right on this one. An articulate black sportscaster is the "holy grail" of the industry. Every producer out there would give his eye teeth to find one.
not judging, just saying.

The Truth Is...

Many commentators hate us because they can't figure us out. They love to sit there and predict the outcome of games and kowtow to the "glamour" teams, when in my opinion there is no way any of them can get through their schedules unscathed. USC looks shaky, Oklahoma has yet to play anybody, Miami plays at NC State and Virginia, Texas always loses to someone they shouldn't and plays at Oklahoma who would still have the BIG 12 Championship game. Georgia will never make it through the SEC (they'll probably lose to LSU this Saturday) ... West Virginia, Ohio State and Oklahoma have the best shot at the national title game... in that order... BUT THEY'LL NEVER ADMIT IT. When one of those "glamour" teams lose they (many commentators) act like the sky is falling... when WE lose it's like "see I told you so". Fortunately it doesn't happen often. It's like they try to will the outcome of games and it frustrates them to see us go against their will. What they fail to understand is that we go into a game like a fight... we beat you up for four quarters and see who's standing in the end. It not about the stats... it's about the "W". Having said all that, if we haven't cured our turnover problem we'll eventually prove those commentators right... but to me it's looking like 2002 all over again. Mark May saying we aren't a top ten team just shows how quickly they forgot what we did that year, and how they don't understand it simply is the way we win games. I'll take the wins over media respect any day of the week.
