I wholeheartedly disagree with May, Forde and others who are implying that OSU "got away" with something here. Whether or not they're eligible for the Sugar Bowl, the fact remains that these five players, and OSU, are horribly hamstrung by the punishment which amounts to a suspension of virtually half of 2011. I find it laughable that May, Forde, etc. think this is unjust simply because the players may elect to enter the NFL draft. If that's the case and this pushed them to go to the draft and they would not have done so otherwise, the NCAA has effectively caused OSU to have one or more of its star senior players sidelined for the entire season. And, like I said before, even if all of them do come back, OSU is without their services for almost half the season. How is that not a crippling blow to a program that otherwise would have been a national title contender in 2011? Go ask a Georgia fan how damaging it can be to have your best player sit for 4 games. Then add a game to that, then multiply that by 4. May, Forde, etc. are clueless if they truly think OSU is skating by here.
