people who root for favorites because it helps their bracket are just the worst kind of people. you can root for 2 things in the tournament.....your favorite teams*, and upsets. that's it, as far as I'm concerned.

This really doesn't make sense. Obviously you're going to have to pick a bunch of favorites - but you're not wearing the favorite's hat to work, you're just pulling for the team that helps your bracket. IMO during March Madness, the fan rules are, there are no rules.

(No comment on your asterisk regarding multiple favorite teams 8D)

What doesn't make sense. So you picked Arizona to go to the Final Four....but they're tied and North Dakota has the ball. You're going to root against a 15 seed because of your bracket that's probably shit anyways? You suck.

As I stated earlier, I'm not rooting for someone like Notre Dame just because I picked them in my bracket. The only exception would be if there was serious money on it.

Besides, who I root for isn't going to change the outcome. So I'm rooting against every team I hate and the bracket will take care of itself.

I had Sparty in the title game last year and was rooting like hell for Middle Tennessee. Seeing Jemele Hill eat a shytburger after MSU lost was priceless.

Let's be honest guys, all our brackets suck. Pick the teams you want to root for if it's going to cause a moral dilemma for you. Just don't say "we" after your pick wins.

The only time I say "we" is when Ohio State plays. I think as an alum it's okay. Otherwise, your suggested "moral dilemma" is about as real as you rooting for teams you dislike is going to help you win your bracket pool. Have fun with that.
