There is an unfilled market niche right now for a credible organization that wants to rate the media on the job they do - how biased and how accurate they are. And not just outlets - but individual reporters and major stories.

I used to think I knew who to listen to, but not anymore. There is just too much crap to sort through

Every journalist wants to be the next Woodward and Bernstein, and break another Watergate. If you have ever read All The Presidents Men, The Post balanced checking/rechecking sources versus trying to be the first to break the story. Today's media could care less about ensuring they have credible sources, they just want to be the first to break a story and as a result run with false or inappropriate stories -- ie, NYT, Dan Rather, and ESPN.

Running a story without fact checking just because someone else did. Funny, I just slammed journalists as a whole for that very practice just a few days ago.

Do something stupid in the NFL or NBA, and you get slapped with a fine. Some sort of governing body should be sticking their boot up the loose asses of reporters who run with unchecked stories that turn out to be untrue.
The difference here.. TPD issued a retraction.
