Looks fantastic to me.. I've always preferred Madden over NCAA. Comes out August 12 and I was surprised that there was no thread for it here.

Here's some gameplay. Presentation looks much better.

like the disappearing scoreboard graphic, especially if you play for way too many hours at a time on a plasma :)

My only concern is how to tell how many seconds are left during a 2 minute drill.

Yup, they've always taken their gameplay a lot more seriously. Although I'm still upset that they created a monopoly with the NFL right when 2k5 was pushing them big time. Competition is a good thing.

:bow:

I'll be picking this up on the 12th with my 1 out rental sub.

I think part of it is Madden does not have as much variety, the players are still largely the same (place and ability), and in dynasties they stick around for 5-15 more years. You can live without the new Madden roster, just update it, but NCAA is simply too much to simply edit.

I kinda like NCAA - but they need to fix a few huge things;

Man coverage - all your QB has to do is drop back about 5 yards, and a receiver always seems to free himself across the middle. You know exactly what i'm talking about - even if you have two safties deep.

Blitz and rush scheme - QB's have far too much mobility; some justified, others not. All I know is, Boeckman isnt able to outrun the LB's from WVU.
On the other hand, its bullshit how DE's from tOSU can run step for step with Pat White. I cannot avoid sacks to save my soul.

Basically if they just took the Madden engine and skins, defensive and (to an extent) offensive gameplay; then just toss in the full NCAA rosters and of course some of the offensive systems - I would be more inclined to play NCAA as it would be a far better game then what it is now.

It just kinda reminds me of Techmo Superbowl - if I go to play against the pass, say cover 3; I usually get eaten alive by any type of running play, even with my LB's creeping close to home. I'm not talking 4-6 yards, I'm saying 9-15 yards on average. Then again, if I play against the run, maybe a little cover 2 or outside LB blitz, any type of pass just destroy's what I have.

I blitz next to never on NCAA, because its that ineffective - so I either play pass, or run. That simple -

Can't wait for Madden

/end rant

EDIT: Just saw the website and Madden has online dynasties. I'm surely going to be getting this game. I love college ball, but 09 isn't up to to par. Now it would be awesome if I could find a way to import draft classes from NCAA without having the game!

The demo fucking sucks, but you can tell that the game is going to rule. The graphics are very good, and the gameplay seems to be improved. I'm not a big fan of the bull before you actually get to play (Madden IQ stuff). It seemed like a waste of time and I can usually find sliders by myself.

I just downloaded and played it, too. While the demo does suck, the game is going be pretty kick ass. The controls/graphics/presentation/player movements, etc. are so much better than the college game. I felt comfortable running the ball in M09, while in the CFB09 demo I usually struggled.
