Honestly it’s better than most places. Every other state, except maybe Utah, also has politics that are capable of fucking up everything, but they don’t even offer the minimal reach around of the entertainment value of doing it in new and interesting ways.

In my non lawyer experience, "I don't want to pay him what the contract says we owe him" is a not a legal tactic that works very often.
