LSU Tigers (official thread)

Game vs Bama will be epic
Bama O looks unstoppable
but if it can be stopped.. it's LSU
who might have the best set of DBs in the land
Delpit is elite

Bama D is nothing special...
and Joe may have some success...
They certainly don't fare well with a running QB

Honestly I think the only team that can beat ALabama is themselves (i.e. complacency and turnovers); however.......

The only thing in LSU's favor is it is a home game.
At "death valley" in 2014: LSU lost 20-13 and in 2016: LSU lost 10-0

At Alabama in 2013: LSU lost 38-17, in 2015: LSU lost 30-16 and in 2017: LSU lost 24-10

The game has been fairly close in recent years and if they keep it close this year too just maybe with a lot of luck LSU can steal one in the 4th quarter.

Did a double-take on that because I figured I would've remembered an ass whooping that big. It was 30-16

2012 at Death Valley lost 21-17.
Bama took the lead with less than a minute to go.

we beat them in 2010 and lost in OT in 2008

SEC fines LSU $100,000 for fans rushing field after Georgia win

As expected, LSU has been fined by the SEC offices after Tiger fans stormed the field following LSU’s blowout victory over defending SEC champion Georgia on Saturday afternoon. The offense, the second charged against LSU, amounts to a fine of $100,000.

Per the release from the SEC offices;

SEC schools unanimously approved the policy which requires fines to be applied when spectators enter the playing field after a game. The policy states that “access to competition areas shall be limited to participating student-athletes, coaches, officials, support personnel and properly-credentialed individuals at all times. For the safety of participants and spectators alike, at no time before, during or after a contest shall spectators be permitted to enter the competition area. It is the responsibility of each member institution to implement procedures to ensure compliance with this policy.”

This is so dumb. Fans that want to rush the field, will rush the field, and there isn't a damn thing any University in the country can do about it. If they try, they'll wind up with dead kids on their football field like what happened at Camp Randall in 1993.

That was bad

Lots of injures

Several nearly fatal

I don’t think anyone died though

It is shameful that people who are in a position to make crowd control decisions don’t learn more from history

If they're going to try and regulate fan behavior, they ought to bring back that old rule (I am not sure if it was a CFB rule, or just a B1G rule) of penalizing the home team if the crowd was too loud.

I remember watching previous OSU/scUM games on BTN one time (probably during scUM week), and couldn't believe that was actually a thing so I looked it up. If they ever tried to do that again, good luck to the refs trying to make it out of the stadium.

By far the “best” at taking advantage of that rule was a TSUN qb by the name of Jim Hardaugh. That was back when an 8-lane track (Jesse Owens Track) still stood between the field and a smaller Ohio Stadium. I was in Block-O (then at the North end) when he whined about how loud it was and got the refs to enforce that rule. To my immense frustration, Ohio Stadium was NOT loud that day, and with that track around the field, noise was never a real problem.

Harbaugh was a whiny little crybaby bitch then. He has not changed
