Our Secondary is going to get thorough repetitive penetration by Ole Miss. 400+ yards easy. To be honest, would not be surprised if it's even 450 yards of passing.
Miller Moss and Garbers have played some pretty bad lower FBS/FCS school, and their outing vs LSU defense was the highest passing yards and highest QBR, Rating, YPA compared to any other G5/FCS school they have played.
I can not emphasize this enough that playing well in 1 half vs UCLA who was averaging 14 ppg coming into this game, and playing well in 1 half vs South Carolina whose QB was injured and couldn't throw... in no way means that we are even close to ready on Defense. These past 2 years are without a doubt the worst 2 defenses I have seen at LSU. I've been watching since 2003.
If I were to rank the defenses of 2003-2024, 2003-2022 would be the top 20, and then 10 spots lower would be 2023 and 2024. It is going to be absolutely demoralizing to watch. I really do say this as an LSU fan. Just want to prepare people.
The roster is just dogshit on DBs. There is no one to even be remotely optimistic about. I don't even think it's new DC's fault. I just think we have the talent of a G5 to lower G5 roster in DBs.

there is absolutely no way in hell you watched even a single game of the 2020 season and ranked it above this year.

Zy Alexander when healthy is more than serviceable. You don't notice it because they avoid the guy he's covering.
PJ Woodland is going to be a damn good one too. He's still young and does make mistakes, but he's getting better every game.

by the way, this was the first time a Big Ten (that sounds so weird when talking about UCLA) team has played in Death Valley since tOSU visited in'87.
also the first time both USC and UCLA played the same SEC school in the same season.
