LSU Tigers (official thread)

"Listen, LSU loves Dare," Orgeron said. "Dare loves LSU. I recruited him out of Ferriday High School as a defensive lineman. Came here. Is going to be a great offensive tackle. He had some personal situations that he had to take care of. It was a hard decision for him, but we wish him the best. We're going to miss him."

If there was that much love between Dare and LSU he wouldn't be in the transfer portal.

Ed Orgeron applauded both of his LSU quarterbacks vying for the starting job after spring practice and closing in on fall camp says Myles Brennan and Max Johnson will continue their competition ahead of the season.

Brennan started three games last fall before suffering a season-ending injury, giving way to T.J. Finley — who started five games and transferred to Auburn in May — and Johnson, who won both of his starts, including an upset of Florida on the road. Johnson passed for 239 yards and three touchdowns against the Gators and was responsible for five total touchdowns in a shootout against Ole Miss, which put LSU at 5-5 on the season, a week later.

“We in the locker room know who the best player is, there ain’t no question, everybody knows. It’s going to work itself out and I’m going to let them play,” Orgeron said during a recent appearance on Mike Detillier’s “Sports Talk” show on WWL. “The competition is going to be fierce every day. I told them, everything that you do (will be studied and evaluated) and you know, both those guys along with Garrett [Nussmeier], having some great summers.

“I think it’s going to work itself out. I think it’s going to be obvious. And obviously, you know, game week going into UCLA, we are going to name our starter; but if we could do it before, we can. It’s all going to be a feel thing.”

Leaving a mark? Any coincidence that a company called Easy Tiger makes these pre-stained underwear?

LSU quarterback Myles Brennan is out for the foreseeable future with a left arm injury, the school announced on Monday afternoon. The redshirt junior was competing for the starting quarterback job with sophomore Max Johnson, but instead will have surgery on his arm on Tuesday, putting his 2021 season in serious doubt.

“Myles Brennan suffered a severe injury that will require surgery,” head coach Ed Orgeron said in a statement. “His timeline is yet to be determined. Myles has done everything we have asked of him this summer and was in the fight to be the starting quarterback at LSU.”

Sucks for Myles.
