2-4 to start conference play.

can't seem to hit with runners on base.
Lange is only showing flashes of last year's greatness.

Poche is about what we expected him to be, and Valek has been better than expected.

but this year we do not have the depth of arms needed to make a serious run. Bullpen is thin me haven't found a steady midweek guy yet either.

I think we just lost waaaay too much from last year's team and it shows.

Nutria - it's the downside to being a top-notch program: many key players will leave the program early for the pros and sometimes the replacements, while extremely talented, need some time get their feet wet and adjust. I think the OSU football team may see this as well next year.

Watch for LSU to be in the thick of the SEC race come May.

Tigers have lost 3 of their last 4, including to #20 Tulane and 2 to #9 Mississippi.

LSU returns to the Box to host Arkansas for 3 and then travel to South Bend to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in a 2 game set.

I don't know how Mainieri did it this year, but somehow he managed to get basically a whole new team with 1 legit ace (that had an off year) to gel late and get a national seed.

if you had told me a month ago that LSU would go on a run that included winning 4/6 games against top 5 teams in 9 days I would have said you was crazy.

Nutria, I know with them being "your team" you see it differently, but to me, I'm not surprised at all. This is what top programs so and LSU is certainly one of the top programs.
