Now don't get Gator all riled up.

Page 242 of the NCAA.rules

While attempting to reach the kicker, if a defensive player pulls an offensive lineman by the shoulders; it's legal if he lets go on his way by. If he continues to hold the offensive player, it's a 10-yard penalty but NOT an automatic 1st down.

So the ruling by the referees was correct. The announcers should have explained that, but they either didn't think about it or weren't sure why and didn't want to sound dumb by talking about it.

thanks!
figured it had to be something if nobody complained about it.

We now have to entertain the possibility of LSU winning the SEC, and potentially playing for a national championship. With their non-running running QB and non-passing passing QB. And their former running QB playing a non-receiving receiver. And a coach missing his frontal lobe. And yet, they'll probably win said national championship. Worse, it may very well be at our expense. Because, you know if they get that far, how would we have any hope when the fates are conspiring against us?

When has that ever stopped announcers in the past? :)

Nah. Just the rematch stats clearly favor the first loser in the second....and Troy looked like he had a bit too much Heisman banquetage.
He wasn't that focused before 04 either and he put up all time #s.
They scored a mess of points on you guys in The Game that year.
No doubt, but they also were gifted with two snaps to their defense and a fortunate bounce on a pick with no turnovers themselves. The chances of Henne avoiding turnovers again seems slim.
I would have favored you, but not guaranteed it.
Nothing is certain, except that Lloyd Carr would have had his team uptight and Crable would make a lot of plays for Ohio State (let alone their safeties, which are a decade long comedy act).
