LSU 45, Mississippi State 0 (final)

I personally thought it was a good call. The DB was face-guarding the WR and never even turned around. Had he not made contact before the ball got there I would have been okay with not calling it.

I don't think he was face guarding. The WR put up his hands too early, and that allowed the player to defend the pass without looking back at the ball. I realize that's not how it's usually called, but I don't think there should be a penalty for cleanly defending the ball just because your back is turned to it.

That's not the problem though. He contacted the receiver before the ball got there. Textbook PI.

INT #4.

LSU has been very unimpressive so far, but the talking heads will just excuse their performance and say it is indicative of the strength of the SEC.

4 INTs now in one half - they should be up by 35.

He brushed his arm. The level of contact was closer to sexual harassment than pass interference.

To heck with JaMarcus Russell - Henig is looking like he should be the next Raiders QB. He's throwing picks like he's Daunte Culpepper or Aaron Brooks.

The Tigers were up 35-3 at halftime last year. This year their up by half that, having received 4 gift-wrapped INTs.

So why are the Tigers not as good on offense this year?

The Raiders took Jarmarcus Russell, and apparently have no plans for him.

The Seminoles took Jumbo Fisher, we'll see if they're benefitting from that acquisition on Monday night.

Who was the bigger loss?

Right now, to me, it looks like Fisher was the bigger loss.

I've found the offensive play calling ridiculous for LSU. It does look like Flynn is settling down a little, but that line can't seem to give him much time... getting better towards the end of the half...

FWIW, my opinion is that the play in the EZ was absolutely PI.
