LSU 41, Alabama 34 (final)

I know I've been touting the osu defense for a while now, but the past 2 weeks for some reason I've been uneasy with how the other team has been hittng some big gainers. Either running the ball, or throwing the ball the past 2 weeks teams have really been doing a number on us as far as the 15+ plays go.

I'm just saying LSU is the team that would most likely give us fits thats all. I haven't lost any faith or bought into what ESPN has said. However, this team reminds me of the way florida plays though. They've been winning close, they lost a close game away, they've been taking chances, they've been getting lucky, and most importantly us buckeyes are saying the same things about them/as well as the SEC. I'm just being very cautious about this one thats all. Hopefully when we/if we beat Michigan we can start to buy up the superdome so that LSU can't buy up all the tickets!

I do look back and wish we would've played another team though that is being competitive this year though. I told everyone coming into this year around me that just watch and see Ohio State will run the table. I knew that this schedule was PERFECT for what we had coming back. I knew we were going to roll with how much talent we had, but I dfinatly knew our schedule set up very nicely. We've had some nice wins, but we haven't really had a game yet where we were in doubt of losing the game into the 4th.

If we get by michigan I know this team will be mentally prepared, and we will be chomping at the bit to play some ball!! Hopefully we can get Wilson back for the championship/BCS game as well because that would be a tremendous boost!

Also LSU's offense is like Florida's.... Very similar matter of fact. They run that spread the whole field and a lot of tricks and gadgets. Except this time this team has a running back capable of something Wynn last year was a sorry excuse (although we couldnt' stop him), but this year Hester really runs hard and with him and Flynn back there thats tough to keep track of. If Michigan gashes us with the run/pass again and our defense looks bad again in that game I'll really be uneasy. Because what LSU's offense will bring to the table will be ten fold what Michigan will bring. If we show up and shut hart down or atleast make them one demensional I'll feel a ton better about the game with LSU

One more thought, tell me that on your boards everyone isn't hoping the Buckeyes lose? It's just college football, you root against the highly ranked teams. Trust me, if Bama was ranked three we would be rooting for LSU :)

Good point. I was just surprised to see comments like "Les Miles sucks" etc when LSU fans wouldn't say anything like that about Tressel. But I momentarily forgot that Les Miles is a Michigan alum, my apologies :)

I will say though... Besides Brett Bielema/Tim Brewster I cannot stand Les Miles

For me it's the way he gambles on basically everything the tigers do. Much like the badgers did today, when they faked the 2nd punt and didn't get it I mean I was pissed because I couldn't believe the situation he just put his team/defense in.

Everyone hails Les as some sort of miracle man over there but the second one of them things don't work it'll blow up in his face. The fact that LSU hasn't been able to dominate more teams this year with the talent they have tells me that the coaching is lacking. I though he was always a poor coach and now that I think of it we'll have tape of our team against his OSU squad to maybe get a feel for how they'll play us.

Yeah, he's a scUM-Whore so I hate him. Out of curiousity, I have a co-worker who's a fan of Auburn, but he's basically said that LSU fans don't really care for Miles, is that because of who he is or over the comparison to the last coach who won a NC?

He's not just a M*ch*g*n alum, he's an ex-Ohioan who went to M*ch*g*n to play football. He's a turncoat and his treason is surpassed only by the likes of Gary Moeller, who played for Ohio State and then went on to be the head coach at M*ch*g*n.

As Bukipower alluded, the Bucks destroyed his Cowboys in the Alamo Bowl. Different school, but it's noteworthy. And I agree there's too much trickery in LSU's play, which often seems to lead to confused and slower players, penalties and turnovers. I think a team that is called for as many penalities as they are reflects bad on the coaching staff.

got that right ZEM.. when the CBS people starting ranting on all the penalties against LSU tonight I just said "that reflects the coaches"... all that stupid moving, throw back passes, unnecessary fakes, and having no common sense on how to just get the job done makes for a lot of fuck ups.

I think LSU is making it a lot harder on themselves than it has to be...just play sound fundamental football and their talent alone would get them to the BCS game.

I'm honestly expecting a fuck up from LSU before the NC game though... I dont' think they make it I really dont for some reason. Maybe in the SEC championship game, and a team like Georgia could give them troubles in Atlanta

I was more confident a couple weeks ago regarding a matchup with LSU, should that happen, than I am now because of the Buckeyes' secondary play. Mainly, I think Jenkins was off his game today and the Buckeyes will need him to definitely be on against a team like Oregon or LSU. And just generally, there have been a lot of open receivers for PSU and Wiscy these past two weeks.

The 50-day layoff worries me more than anything, though. And I think the biggest difference in the Buckeyes this January, whatever bowl they're in, their O-Line and D-Line will be considerably improved, and Chris Wells seems to be an improvement over Pittman, as good as he was.

yup you are like a clone image of me right now.. It just seems like we're playing too loose in the secondary and giving them too much room to work. take purdue for example, we were pressing the fuck out of their recievers and we FORCED them to try and make plays. Now it seems like we're just not trying to give up anything deep? Jenkins has been off the past 2 weeks I think and maybe thats why it seems like we haven't been as good on defense to me the past two weeks?

The lines will be better in the bowl game we play in thats for sure, but again the lay off really has me worried. Atleast we'll hear about how big of a mistake we are for that whole time though that'll help keep us razor sharp

Miles does make it more difficult than it would be otherwise. For instance, the pass on 3rd and really short in the 2nd quarter when Bama intercepted Flynn. On Georgia, I think they just got up for Florida and aren't really a match for the talent of LSU. But LSU plays to everybody's level...

very true.. with Georgia playing in the georgia dome and being an under dog I expect a good fight from them.. Plus Georgia has a decent running game so maybe they can control the clock and get lucky? Arkansas will challenge the LSU defense though... that shoudl be an interesting game as well

A potential LSU-Gawga game in the CCG would be in the Georgia Dome, which should help the Dawgs.

Louisiana State players and coaches, including coach Les Miles, second from right, celebrate the hard-earned win.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Maybe now the fans of Louisiana State can get over Nick Saban and relish what they have: a living-on-the-edge team that's still in the thick of the national championship race after another heart-stopping victory.

Coach Les Miles' Tigers did it again last night, scoring two touchdowns in the final three minutes for a 41-34 win over No. 17 Alabama, which should serve as payback on the coach who won a title in Cajun Country but is now considered a turncoat by the purple and gold.
