No, at the beginning of the video it reads 1.85 when the aircraft is well above the tree line.

IANAP, but, if he was having a problem with his tail rotor, he'd have to do an at speed rolling landing. Looks like that might have been his initial intention, but then he saw people standing there and pulled up. The slow turn after he pulled up might have been consistent with the torque turn one gets with a faulty tail rotor, or he may have been in control. The way he came in hot again tells me he was probably having some kind of problem though.

Doing an RTT (Return To Target) either as legitimate training or to show off and probably misjudged the loss of lift due to the high altitude.
