I'm lucky enough to be doing exactly what I wanted to do when I retired from the Air Force. I do web development and database maintenance, which allows me to spend most of my day on the web. The pay is pretty decent for being in Hawaii (wages here suck), so along with my AF retirement pay I do well. My boss is a co-worker from way back, and we work a 40-hour week with rare exceptions and get all the special days off that the military folks do.

I like mine, good hours, get to be outside alot. Plenty of vacation and sick time. Only required to actually work 37.5 hours a week, (state job). The best thing is the time/activity breakdown. Telling others what to do 95%. Being asked to do something 5%. All and all, pretty good.
