Only if Odom would play every game like last night. If would play like that all season, he would easily be 6th man of the year and we would've had the best record in the league by far. I just don't understand why Odom doesn't play like this all the time, and he just picks the game he feels like playing in.

As long as Kobe and Pau are doing what they have been doing all playoff long, then i think we will be good in this series. We are too big for the Suns, and our defense disrupts their style of play. I'm guessing they win a game or two at home, but that's it. Lakers will be in the finals for a 3rd straight season!

Odom aside, best record isn't going to matter, if we make it to the finals, we have home court. Lebron choked again (sorry cavs fans) and the magic can't handle pressure, we'll get the Celtics, and considering the two games we played, I like our chances. Home Court is key against the Celtics, and we went 1-1 in the regular season with the second game lost while Kobe was out.

I'm not counting any chickens, but all the Lakers need to do from here on out is hold home court, and this team is better than 2008, so, let's hope for the best.

I believe Orlando has home court advantage over the Lakers due to overall record, which doesn't necessarily make it true... we do have home court over Boston though

Best record? Cavs. MVP? LeBron. Champion? Lakers.

Don't forget, Amar'e Stoudemire just exposed Lamar Odom's 19 and 19 as a fluke. Riiight. What does Odom do? Fill in the blanks. He's off the bench to spark a run, and it works.

Amar'e's team is down 2 games and he needs to worry about that, not how hard Odom just pounded his favorite girlfriend.

I was actually happy when Amare said what he said. I was hoping that would give Odom a spark and play like he should of been playing all season long. He has been a huge key to the 2 game lead in this series. So far the Suns cannot defend us in any way, shape, or form. They are a bad defensive team normally, but they are really bad this series. I would love to see a sweep, but realistically the Suns will probably win a game at home.

Those shots were ridiculous. What's even more amazing is that we have come to expect that from him.

LeBron may be more versatile, but Kobe is much more deadly in the clutch and outside is the paint.

Kobe is the closest to Jordan in this era, he just doesn't have the same charism a (doesn't make his team better like Michael did, and magic and a few others in that era)

He also plays in an era with vastly superior athletes to the 90s (tho not necessarily better basketball players). Jordan hanging and switching hands was breathtaking at the time. These days the 16 seeds have guys who can do every acrobatic layup in jordan's arsenal.

If Kobe can finish his career with 6 or more rings, i think people will need to have the conversation of who is the best player of all-time between Jordan and Kobe. I do agree that Jordan made his overall team better, but Kobe is one of, if not the best, closer the NBA has ever seen. Kobe is the closest anyone has come to Jordan. LeBron is a very good player, and will go down as one of the best, but he is not at the same level as a Jordan, Kobe, Magic, Bird. He is still young, so only time will tell for him.

Maybe the curse of losing to Boston in the Finals is over now.

On a more serious note...will Phil be back to coach or not? My guess is that he is finally done, and this was the cap to his amazing career. There isn't another coach as great as Phil Jackson, but not having him back will save the Lakers quite a bit of money. I think if the core of the Lakers stick together, it won't matter that much who the coach is.
