I call bullshit.. but who knows any more
Feels like this would be the wheels coming off if true. And he’s gonna make a life changing amount of money on a 1 year deal.

They may not be transferring to sit the bench, but there's going to be a lot of these transfers that will be doing just that. There's more Vic Cutlers and Jahad Carters in the Portal than Josh Simmons'Nobody is going to come here to ride the bench. I doubt we can pull in that many.
The issue is it is not money well spent on another Vic Cutler. OSU just needs to recruit and develop better. Which falls on Frye's shoulder. They may not be transferring to sit the bench, but there's going to be a lot of these transfers that will be doing just that. I’m kind of here, as well, with seeing how long it takes line men to see the field. I think they need and are trying to find a blended strategy here.I’m starting to think high school 3 o linemen is not so bad. The portal is loaded with linemen. They don’t have unlimited funds and I’d rather they spend the money on 2nd-5th year guys that will be starting than freshman that will sit.
Just get the Ohio guys and develop them. Turns out OSU is having to recruit them as transfers, after not recruiting them out of high school.I’m starting to think high school 3 o linemen is not so bad. The portal is loaded with linemen. IIRC we were one of his finalists way back when. Some things just work out. That's a no for me.

I've gone over to this line of thinking now as well. You can pay several million to an 18yo, and you may lose him in 1-2yrs. Now all may not lose their ambition due to the money, but some will, and that's a heck of a risk for programs. Especially when another entity is supplying the money. I'm not saying to not recruit high end HS recruits, I'm just saying that maybe the HS recruits HS pursues are in state or within a 2-3hr drive, or a kid who has family or is originally from OH. And please stop expecting every OH OL to just jump at an OSU offer. NIL will still be a factor, and we can't be smug enough to think these are still the Tressel days. A kid who's a 4star from Hoban, is still going to get pursued by many programs all over the country. And there may be sometimes where they may have to battle for an in state kid with NIL, and decisions will need to be made. But a realistic HS OL number could definitely be around 3-4. And then another 3-5 OL from the PortalI’m kind of here, as well, with seeing how long it takes line men to see the field. I think they need and are trying to find a blended strategy here.
Oh its a definite NO! I was only posting this in humor and irony over a former 5star. I don't want OSU to even text him, but I'm sure he'll get another chance based on that former ratingThat's a no for me.
