Look Who's Transferring Now (The Portal)

If he has been in contact the Dabo his entire time at Northwestern (he never lost touch) how is that not considered tampering?
Oh, I know. If it was tampering it would be against NCAA rules, and Reverend Dabo would never step outside the rules.

Dabo hasn't been directly contacting him, he's been contacting him through his prayers.

That is assuming these so called "NCAA Rules" were actually enforced by some entity known as the "NCAA"

Eh, it's not like they were the model for enlightened stewardship or anything.

More like NCAA says "we'd still like to do enforcement but we're so fat, dumb and happy with collection we're just 'gonna stick with that for as long as we can milk the tit"

NCAA president Mark Emmert was paid $2.9 million during the 2019-20 fiscal year despite a drop in revenue of over 50 percent, according to ESPN's Dan Murphy. Emmert's $2.9 million salary is a "slight increase in pay," compared to the previous year, per ESPN.

:sarcastic:...Yeah, but I'm sure all the NCAA employees including Emmert really earn their money...:sarcastic:

ESPN’s Pete Thamel was on Sportscenter on Wednesday and laid out what factor Williams and his family are taking into consideration during the process. He said setting the quarterback up for success at the next level is the top priority and not sponsorship deals.

“So far, he’s visited USC and UCLA but he’s been on Zooms with a dozen other schools,” Thamel said. “The family is weighing their options and Carl Williams, his dad, told me last night NFL, not NIL, is the guiding light of what the family is doing. Meaning — they want to go to the place where he’s best prepared to go to the NFL and ultimately be the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL draft.”

Bruce Feldman names team to beat for Caleb Williams

Bruce Feldman of The Athletic weighed in on the Williams transfer situation himself. He said USC would be a tough team to beat, reconnecting the quarterback with his former Oklahoma head coach, Lincoln Riley.

“I think they’re the team to beat for him,” Feldman said when asked about USC’s chances at landing Williams. “He bought into Lincoln Riley a couple of years ago. And look, Lincoln Riley has three starting quarterbacks in the NFL right now – Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, and Jalen Hurts – that he has helped develop. There’s an aspect of a blank canvas and you can come into Southern California. You know what you’re getting with Lincoln Riley. Who would come with him?”

Williams has stated he is loyal to Riley and the head coach is one of the main reasons Oklahoma was the choice out of high school. Heading out west to follow the new USC headman has a proven track record of getting selected high in the NFL draft.

Michigan State linebacker enters the transfer portal

Michigan State Spartans freshman linebacker Ma’a Gaoteote has entered the transfer portal according to On3’s Matt Zenitz. He played in eight games this season for the Spartans.

Gaoteote recorded seven tackles this season, making his debut against Youngstown State. The linebacker recorded a career-high of two tackles in the blowout loss to Ohio State.

Coming out of high school Gaoteote was a four-star prospect according to the On3 Consensus. He comes out of Las Vegas, NV, and St. John Bosco High School. Gaoteote ranked as the No. 22 linebacker in the 2021 recruiting class and the No. 179 overall prospect.

Gaoteote was a longtime USC commit before flipping on early signing day in Dec. 2020. Other programs such as Nebraska, Oregon, Ole Miss, and Washington were recruiting the linebacker as well.

The Gaoteote already has a connection inside of the Big Ten, with Gaoteote’s brother, Palaie, currently playing for the Ohio State Buckeyes. He transferred from USC this offseason, only recording nine tackles during the 2021 season.
