Look Who's Transferring Now (The Portal)

Bama’s roster and recruiting class is getting poached hard lol. I don’t think they can get a big enough name to save it all.

Even easier to poach in the open transfer/NIL era. No longer is a kid worried about losing a year of eligibility. Plus they can probably leverage a pay raise.

Does make you think about IF OSU moved on from Day. You have to have a home run name and $ plan in place or it may be a 2-3 year turnaround.

Now you could just as quickly pay guys after year 1 but Bama is going to hurt next year and short term.

That’s the catch, right? NIL has changed so much, even coaching hires. You can be a bigger name at a semi-big school and still rake in kids with NIL. So why would coaches want to leave a school where there’s no pressure to win 10-11 games a year? You can sit comfy like Oregon, having a big name and a big wallet and still get the commitments. If we fired Day, who’s the successful innovator leaving their job to come here in this pressure cooker?

I’m with you on Bama. The lists being floated around aren’t names that are going to make recruits pop off - and recruiting is your future investments.

That’s an excellent point and I would hope something that the incoming AD will plan for in the event that Day leaves whether to pursue a new position or we move on from him.
