Look Who's Transferring Now (The Portal)

One of the reasons why I am not as invested as I used to be quite frankly.

I still am invested but am finding it harder to stay invested.

Some of these cats don't realize that the non-blue blood school still need the fans and teams like Indiana, Arkansas, Arizona, & all of the G5 teams. They still have hope but that is gone as they see their 1-2 all-star players leave for Bama or Oregon every year. Then what? NFL-lite where us fans of Ohio State, Bama, Georgia, Oregon, etc. get used to 3-4 loss seasons that might lead to a playoff spot?

Knew when college became professional that my enjoyment was greatly diminished

Have those teams ever had hope? I've been to games with IU alum who choose to stay in the parking lot rather than go in the game because they knew they were going to lose. Ive been to games at Duke, where stands had 50 people, I've been to games at UC with Minter and they gave football tickets for free when you purchased basketball game tickets, etc. CFB hasn't changed, IDK why fans don't understand this. None of those mid tier or bottom feeder programs think they have a chance, they know their place.
Did people think that players just wanted to willingly live in Athens, GA, Tuscaloosa, AL, Clemson, SC, Eugene, OR, by choice? CFB has always been NFL-lite. Only difference now is that fans see players get paid now, as opposed to acting like their favorite program landed a star player because he liked the majors and the student union. We're adults! Let's be honest with ourselves!

Agree with all of the above. NIL/portal xfers have diminished the rabidity (is a word?) of recruiting, etc. Someone somewhere said that we'd never see an all-american or first rounder come out of the lesser leagues, as they'll all xfer to a big name school, with more NIL $ and NFL exposure. Am believing that more and more. Cannot fathom the love for the college game will ever run dry, even at the 'lesser' football schools, but indications are definitely in that direction. Maybe some 'big buck' contributors shell out some $ for a player, but they gotta know they're only renting them for a year, because if they ball out, they're gone. Can see that players that don't cut it, say at tOSU, transfer to another school, like tOSU DE starting at Notre Dame, and doing well. QBs have picked up and left, and starred at their new landing spot. Best example is the Indiana QB that finished games black and blue, and now is the leading Heisman contender. Am certain this topic could be debated for eons. Anyway, Go Bucks!

At a Natty? Not really.

At a once in a generation Conference Championship? Yes. That is not going to happen with NIL, Transfers, no divisions, etc.
