Logitech Harmony 1000 Universal Remote

Anyone have one of these? A buddy of mine offered me a brand new one for pretty cheap but I wanted to see if anyone on here had one before I make the purchase. They look pretty cool and it would be nice to eliminate the numerous remote controls I have next to my throne on the couch.

Can't really comment on that model, but I am very pleased with the 880.

Just bought the 880 myself, and I must say it has made life much easier. If you have a loved one who is not so good at figuring this stuff out it can save a lot of headaches

My wife just bought (me?) one for my birthday. At first I wanted to throw it into the wall ($150)! But, I guess I can live with it.
The problem with most of these things is the screen is too damn small!
The 1000 has a large screen so chock one up for the very expensive Logic 1000.
I would never in a million years have bought this thing. But my wife is anal about all the remotes hanging around.
I didn't have the heart to tell her I thought it was a waste of money.
I think now she realises I could have cared less.
But, I really think she wanted it! :crazy:

I bought a 720 recently. I absolutely love it. Bought my mom a 520 on Amazon (they had them for $35) because I got tired of her calling me and asking what buttons she had to push to watch a DVD... now she just has to push "watch DVD."

I love my Harmony 550 (got it for 25ish last year), but it is a normal remote size.

That thing is rather monstrous. It seems like something fun for a home theater, but a bit oversized for regular use in the living room.

What is the 'good price' you're being offered?

I have the 880. Love it. Picked my dad up a 520 for christmas. He loves it as well. Dont know how I lived without one of these for so long

The functionality is great but I've had a lot of problems with the thing freezing, buttons sticking, etc. The software updates have improved things but it still acts up from time to time. Not sure I could recommend it considering the price.

Yeah, I'll stick with my $25 Logitech 550 ($99 msrp).
