Live NFL 2006 Draft Coverage (official thread)

The Bears wouldn't have had a 3rd round pick without the trade.
It looks like you can bump those numbers all down a spot though if Kudla last long enough.

Right...my bad. Still, it's a good list, and they could have done a hell of a lot better than they did, at every position. What the hell is one thinking when the offense is terrible and you don't use a pick in the first 5 rounds on it?

When the Browns took Braylon Edwards instead of Mike Williams it was because Edwards played in colder weather and was used to it. It is a factor in some cases.
I'm sure it 'could' play a factor, but I don't think it is a guaranteed consideration, especially since I'm not sure there was a true alternative to chad in this draft. As for the browns example, Williams sat out a full year, had a pedestrian 40, and had equal production at best in contrast to Braylon.

I don't think it was that much of a factor. I think they took Braylon because he was the better playmaker not really because he played in colder weather.

edit: mike williams isn't much more than a possesion reciever

Im just saying what Savage said the day after the draft.

He said that the fact that Edwards played in colder weather was a factor.
