In a way, I feel like Gordon had cursed us with that remark. Ever since he made that comment, we've lost a lot of respect nationally. Remember in 2006, when a one-loss Florida team was considered to not be good enough to even be on the field with us? Now, we go two years without losing and we don't even make it to the National title game!!! Even if we beat MSU, it would have been highly likely that Aubarn with their overrated SUC schedule would have jumped us.

The only team who won as much as we did, and faced as much disrespect was Boise State from 2002-2010. It seems that this declining perception in tOSU greatness had occurred after Gee made his comment about Boise not deserving to be taken seriously for beating up on "the Little Sisters of the Poor."

Don't get me wrong, I think Meyer is a class act and a winner, but 24-0 and no BCS title game has me feeling like we've become Boise. Have we?

I don't believe you are connecting your dots correctly.

Fair assessment, the thing I worry about is how public perception affects recruiting. Sure, more knowledgable people know ESPN is a bunch of [Mark May], but could this skewered perception of tOSU and B1G seriously affect recruit's decision to take their talents to Columbus?
Umm... where have you been for the last 10 years? This isn't a particularly recent phenomena. No. There's virtually no affect on recruiting

Not a knock on Urban, I think he is a damn good coach, but he has yet to prove that he can win big with his own players the way Tressel, Carroll, and Stoops have. His recruiting classes have been phenomenal, but his BCS game at Utah was because he inherited Alex Smith at QB. Same at Florida, he inherited a very fast defense, solid offensive line, and a highly touted starting QB. Now he's been playing primarily with Tressell's recruits against a Charmin schedule.
