Liberty Bowl: Central Florida 3, Mississippi State 10 (final)

Seems the MSU offensive philosophy of having a terrible QB keep throwing all day is in effect here as well.

I just don't get it.

I'd rather run into an 11 man front all day long and the worst that happens is we punt. I fail to see the advantage gained by throwing when your QB is as likely to throw it to the other team as your own. At least you are prepared to go down and cover a punt, its not so certain on INT's.

If you have the D to back it up, and UCF does in this game, there is no reason to do it any other way. Make the other team beat you, don't help them.

AGREE 100% it has always been my personal football coaching philosophy...sort of the Ice man from top gun approach...just sit back and wait for the other team to do something stupid

Oh and even the kickers are painful to watch

Isn't there a theory going around that the strength of the SEC is in its depth? That even its lower end teams like Mississippi State would finish near the top of everyone elses conference?

I could swear I remember hearing or reading something like that.

This is ridiculous. Is it possible to have more OTs than points scored, or do they go to a coin flip at some point? Because I don't see either team ending this any time soon...

Show of hands - who wants this to go to 5 OT so Kevin Smith can net 182 yards?
